Central Wellness - A space for yoga and holistic health

In the philosophy of  yoga we each have within us a divine light, an inner spirit. This light can be easily overshadowed by everyday life, especially in the darker and colder months.   As we welcome in the New Year, full of possibilities and opportunities, even though it is cold and mid-winter, remember the days are getting longer.  Every day is filled with more and more light and this is a beautiful reflection of your own inner light that longs to shine.

What makes you glow?  Take a moment to notice what lights you up right now. Then plan to do more of it each day, however short, ignite your spark  - RISE up!.

We have an amazing new schedule of classes for the new year including 2 new teachers, prenatal, mother & baby and afternoon yoga classes.

Student Spotlight
What Yoga Means to me?
by Miranda Fisher

The woman at the back of the yoga class.
I am Miranda , and not ashamed to say that I am not always comfortable with how I look or how I feel. Many things have contributed to this. Periods of ill health including stress, leave their mark. At times I have felt that the challenges are so huge I won’t overcome them.
My arthritis has been one of those things in particular. Spending time recovering from operations and getting mobile has been sometimes a painful challenge. I was the woman who would walk mountains alone, run and generally be able always to go the next step. But as we know sometimes the path can be a rocky one and at times I felt like I was stuck in an avalanche. What has yoga got to do with it? I practiced yoga many years ago and it was a pleasant addition to my exercise routine but that was it. I have returned to yoga (or perhaps it has returned to me!)and it means something different. Maybe older and wiser, and willing to open up to possibilities. I get it now. It fits with who I am. I feel like I’m moving forward. It’s slow and in my own time but I’m pleased with me. I’m no longer reliant on medication, and have few bits of metal holding my foot together. However the most important thing of all is I like how I feel doing yoga. My path is still rocky but I’m stronger in every step I take. I’ll still stay at the back of the class but what an amazing place to be.
