Funding Opportunities and Fair Play Code Information Session
We are pleased to announce a free information session, being held on May 30, on the Victorian Government’s investment and funding opportunities for community sports. The session will also provide information on the Fair Play Codelaunched by the Hon John Eren, Minister for Sport.
The session will benefit people involved with community clubs who will soon, or in the future, be applying for grants to assist with improvements and growth for their club.
Women’s Health Goulburn North East, Sport North East and the Rural City of Wangaratta are partnering to deliver the Respect and Equity Forumat the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday June 6, 2018.
Supported by the Central Hume Primary Care Partnership, the forum will focus on how an inclusive environment benefits sporting clubs, and how this environment will assist in building membership bases and attracting players to sporting clubs.
Sport North East will commence the next edition of the Learn Support Lead program in Wodonga and Towong, scheduled to begin in July 2018.
Following the successful launch program in Wangaratta, the Wodonga and Towong program will aim to grow the number of women involved in leadership capacities at community sports clubs.

Change Our Game Community Grants
The Change Our Game Community Activation Grants will support community sport and active recreation organisations to deliver events and forums that celebrate the role of women and girls and further gender equality. Grant Guidelines, Application Form and other information can be found here.

Winter School Holiday Program
The upcoming winter School Holiday Program will be conducted between the dates of July 2nd to 13th. Sport North East are currently seeking interest from clubs to conduct a one-off 90 minute session for primary-aged school kids in Wangaratta, Wodonga or Tallangatta.
Wodonga Hockey Club receive new defibrillator thanks to Sport and Recreation Victoria
Wodonga Hockey Club are the recipients of a brand new Automated External Defibrillator (AED)!
Following a successful application to the Victorian Government's "Defibrillators for Sporting Clubs and Facilities Program", the club is now prepared in case of an emergency.

Wodonga athlete making history
Wodonga’s Brett Newman has become the region’s first player to be drafted in the Victorian Wheelchair Football League (VWFL).
AFL clubs Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn, Richmond and St Kilda have partnered with Disability Sport and Recreation (DSR) in developing five eight-player squads, as part of the first state-wide AFL wheelchair competition.
