All steam ahead for the Wellbeing Festival

Plans are now well advanced for our Summer Wellbeing Festival on 9th July. We will be closing the street and there will be food, entertainment, stalls, wellbeing taster sessions and fun for all the family.

We are now taking bookings from people who want to have a stall or provide entertainment. If you are interested email Norma and she'll send you a booking form on norma@manorgardenscentre.org.

We also have a large number of volunteering opportunities on the day and beforehand. Have a look here to see whether you could offer to do something for our Festival.

Ed's running for the Friendship Network

Ed Bartram, Co-ordinator of the Friendship Network, is joining Jordan and his staff from Islington's famous Trullo restaurant in running the Hackney Half-Marathon on Sunday 8th May.

Everyone who dines at Trullo is encouraged to give a donation to our Friendship Network, which supports older people living on their own by matching them up with a befriender. Jordan is one of our befrienders and has been visiting an elderly gentleman for over three years. And this is just the latest Friendship Network event he has organised for us.

If you can, please support Jordan and his team, plus our very own Ed, by sponsoring the runners. Find out more here

Improved services for older people
At Manor Gardens we let out our space to a range of Islington charities in the field of wellbeing. Age UK Islington has just expanded its services on our premises to include prevention screening, community information, case work, volunteering, wellbeing and the carers hub. The new facilities at 9 Manor Gardens were opened on 4th April by Councillor Janet Burgess, Deputy Leader of Islington Council.
