Religious Accommodation in Ontario Schools
This project seeks to support and promote Ontario’s Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy and in particular, respond to Religious Accommodation. The Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy includes the need for each school board to “have religious accommodation guidelines in place and communicate these guidelines to the community” (details here). We have just completed the Second Phase and the Third Phase is due to start shortly.
Spiritual and Religious Care Awareness Week (SRCAW): will be held October 19-25, 2015. Theme: Mental Health: Cultural and Religious Dynamics. See the SRCAW 2015 Handbook and more details on our Website
Spiritual and Religious Care Awareness Week offers an opportunity to recognize the value of religious services and spiritual care and to honour those who provide the care. Each year the Ontario Multifaith Council provides Spiritual and Religious Care Awareness Week packages to individuals and facilities across the province. Packages include resources to help participants create awareness of the profession and to help celebrate this very special work. More details on our Website.
