We Continue to Support

Special Food Bank Distribution

The need is still there!  Through a conversation with Chairman Jose, it has been determined that another Special Food Bank Distribution is needed.  The Belize Mission Society in conjunction with Chairman Jose, Miss Maretha and Miss Harriet will be assisting with a Special Food Bank Distribution today on Maundy Thursday.  The feeding program participants and community members who are most in need are being cared for through this collaboration.

The leaders in Seine Bight continue to monitor the need for special food distributions.  The BMS will continue to work with the leaders in the village to help support those most in need of essential supplies.

We are so thankful for the relationship of mutual respect that has grown during this time of distance. Your continued support makes this possible.

You can help us by donating to the Belize Mission Society through the blue "Donate" button below.

Following up with Students
Last group picture taken of scholarship students 2018-2019. The pandemic stopped us from visiting to take pictures 2019-2020.
Grades are in for our students!  We are so thankful for the assistance from Principal Longsworth and Mr. Delano Palacio that helped ensure that all of our students received devices to assist with their distance learning at high school.

Although, the grades are not at the level we expect of our students, ALL of them have improved greatly.  This has shown us they have the determination and desire to excel in their education.  This is a semester of grace and compassion.

Needs Request from Miss Moriera
The Principal at St. Alphonsus School has reached out for assistance.  Here is her message:

"We have 2 set dates for phased school reopening of face to face learning:   April 12 and May 10 but we can't do any because our school is not physically prepared and safe as yet. We're struggling as we speak. I wanted to know if it would be possible for Belize Mission Society to help with 16 hand sanitizer dispensers that we can put at the entrance of each classroom so the children can sanitize upon entering the classroom. That would be a big step forward for us in terms of reopening preparation."

We have reached out to Pastor Herb in Belize for assistance. He was able to locate a company in Belize City that could accommodate this need for each classroom and the kitchen where lunches are prepared for the feeding program.   It is our prayer to purchase 16 dispensers. A dispenser and one gallon of sanitizer per classroom would cost $65. We need your assistance to help the school with their reopening plan and get the children back in the classrooms.

Can YOU help?  We need 16 sponsors to donate $65 to help keep the teachers and students safe.  It's easy to donate . . click on the blue "donate" button below OR mail a check to:

A Note from the Executive Director

Hi Friends of Belize Mission Society,

Are you ready for some more good news?!  A small Recon Team of four participants will be traveling to Belize from April 17 - 24, 2021.  I can hardly contain my excitement.  I warned my fellow travel partners to have a handkerchief on hand because when the plane tires hit the ground in Belize I may not be able to hold back my emotions.  Tears of joy will steam down my face. Thankful for the mask that will hide most of the expressions.

I have been busy making plans and arrangements for our upcoming trip to Belize. The leaders in the village are eager for our return and support our small teams arrival. Next months newsletter will be full of information and pictures.  I am praying that this will be the beginning of many plans for teams to return.

Donations this time of year have slowed down as expected.  Have you gave thanks to God for your stimulus check?   Prayerfully consider joining us on His mission in Belize with a donation today.

May each of you have a blessed Holy Week as we look forward to Easter and celebrate our Risen Savior.

With much love,
Your Sister in Christ,

Prayer Request:  Recon Team, Scholarship Students, Village Leaders, St. Alphonsus School, Our Missionaries in Belize.

Pastor Benjamin Flores

Pastor Benjamin and
Karina Flores

On November 28, 2020, Pastor Benjamin Flores was ordained into Holy Ministy in his home country of Bolivia.   We rejoice with Pastor Flores as he will continue to serve in Belize.  In other great news, the Flores family welcomed a son, Lucas, in February.

The BMS is looking forward to seeing how God will work through our missionary friends in the field.
