Virtual VBS!

On our Recon Trip in April, Kirwin approached the BMS regarding the desire to have a VBS program this summer.  He knows first hand the impact the program has on the children and adults of Seine Bight.  They all miss us so much and long for that time of fellowship during the week of VBS.

His conversation and request started the ball rolling on figuring out a way to share Christ's love in a different way.  Many of you know our dear friend and BMS Board of Directors Chairperson, Miss Erin.  Once she learned of Kirwin's request, Erin went right to work on coming up with a plan.

Since we can’t be together in person, we want to be together in spirit. The goal is to comment back and promote/allow for spiritual conversations and encouragement to take place in an online environment. Use those posts as a way to connect with one another.

Here is what we need from YOU . .

Join us in the Seine Bight Connection Private Facebook Group July 12th - 16th at 9:00 am for a 30 minute worship video.  Bible story and discussion questions at 9:30.  Everything is prerecorded and presented by our amazing VBS leader, Miss Erin.

Thank you Miss Erin . . for your dedication to sharing the Gospel with all of our friends in Seine Bight.  This effort has been completely God led which just gives me the goosebumps!  Thank you for listening to Him and stretching yourself to share the love of Christ.

Feeding Program

Students come in two shifts to get lunches.
This is the first shift of the day.
The school year has come to a close for our friends in Seine Bight.  It was an entire year of distance learning for the teachers and students.

Miss Harriet and Miss Allana continue to care for the students at St. Alphonsus School. Miss Harriet made the decision to continue the "Take Away" lunch program for the students in the feeding program through the month of July.  She identified a need for this to continue for another month.  We give thanks for Miss Harriet and Miss Allana for their dedication and service to their community.
Please pray for Miss Harriet and Miss Allana as they continue to care for the students in the feeding program.

You can help us by donating to the Belize Mission Society through the blue "Donate" button below.  It costs $1 a day to feed a child.  Join us . . . make a difference by donating today.

New 1st Form Scholarship Students
Mr. Palacio is our advocate in Seine Bight
Katherine is so excited to be on scholarship!
Kyle and his father SO excited for the
opportunity for scholarship to IHS
We are so thankful for our relationships in the village.  Miss Moreira received applications from students while Mr. Palacio and Miss Maretha helped us conduct our interviews.  Their participation in this process is crucial to the success of the scholarship program that started in 2011.

We have four new scholarship students entering 1st Form (9th grade) at Independence High School.
  • Tridean
  • Katherine
  • Kyle
  • Mariano
Two of our students are siblings of previous scholarship students with supportive and engaged families.  Tridean's sister Trinity  AND Katherine's sister Cynthia both were recipients of the BMS scholarship.  Fun Fact about Tridean:  She is a runner just like her Aunt Kaina (2012 London Olympic Athlete from Belize).

Support a student today!  It's easy. . . $2 a day ($60 monthly) for a student.  You can set up a reoccuring donation through PayPal by clicking on the blue "donate" button below.

Checks can be mailed to:

A Note from the Executive Director

Hi Friends of Belize Mission Society,

There are many of you receiving this newsletter that are on "pause" from serving IN Belize.  A second summer without wearing those Thrivent shirts everyday, sweating more than you knew you could, and sand fleas.  Oh, how we miss it all (Can you believe I even miss the darn sand fleas?)!  But, what we miss most is our friends in the village.  The kids crawling all over us.  The laughter and connection of fellowship and sharing Christ's love.

The Pilot Team in October gives all of us HOPE.  Hope in a return in 2022 of seasoned teams.  A year of reunion and reconnection. Thank you for being patient with the BMS as we do our best to care for the village and YOU, our supporters and servants.

Last week, St. John's Lutheran Church in Manfield, TX hosted VBS with their mission focus on the Belize Mission Society's Feeding Program.  The students had a fun week of learning about Jesus and Belize.  All week they practiced and learned how to say "good morning" in Garifuna: Buiti Binafi.    We are building up future missionaries at St. John's.  Thank you Miss Sue for stretching yourself and creating a BMS mission focus for their VBS program.  Maybe next year, your church can have Belize Mission Society as the mission focus for VBS.  We have resources available, just send me an email at

We couldn't do any of this without all of you and your prayers.  Thank you for praying for the BMS, her Board of Directors and our friends in the village.

With much love,
Your Sister in Christ,

Prayer Request:  Miss Harriet, Miss Allana, Kyle, Tridean, Katherine, Mariano, Mr. Palacio, Miss Maretha, Miss Moreira, Take Away Lunch Program, Virtual VBS, Miss Erin
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
