All Things New
This year closes on a very personal note.
My wife and I adopted our little one just three days before Christmas. Some of you already know what a journey this has been for us. Although just four, she has been in our life since she was three days old and we have gone from being foster parents, to godparents, to finally her mom and dad. Although our joy feels impossible to describe, I attempted to blog about it here
Strange to think, but my first album Days Like These
(recorded when I was only 25), included a lullaby entitled "Rockabye
" as the closing track. In it imagined the beauty of a new life entering the hardships of a broken world, little did I know then how true that would become.
During the period in which I was her godfather I wrote a lot of music - most of which has not been published. However one demo was featured on a compilation of love songs. This song "To Find You" was my attempt to describe the experience of being a surrogate father in a chaotic world of transition. I hope in the coming year I can record a full EP of these songs
To Find You
Released on Ball of Wax Volume 35 (Love Songs) - recorded live with Cameron Elliot.
