Proposals for Creating a Culture of Belonging and Dare to Design Due Soon!
We have two exciting conferences coming up in early spring - Creating a Culture of Belonging (February 6-7, 2020) at Good Shepherd Episcopal School in Dallas, TX, and Dare to Design (March 12-13, 2020) at Trinity Preparatory School and Park Maitland School in Orlando, FL!

Creating a Culture of Belonging is a PK-12 conference (formerly known as LLI Southwest!) focusing on all aspects of teaching and learning, particularly those that speak to building a positive, open culture in schools. Workshops received so far include digital literacy, mindfulness, historical thinking and empathy, and more - but we've still got space for YOUR best teaching!

Proposals are due December 1, 2019!

Dare to Design is a PK-12 conference - a brand new one! - at TWO schools, showing how design thinking can lead to creative solutions, even when it comes to conference planning! Teachers who use design thinking are better equipped and empowered to engage their students, and we're seeking your ideas, tips, and resources for creating an environment where everyone dares to design! So far we have workshops on graphic design, technology, breakouts, teaching technology and design thinking to early childhood students, and many more, but we still have a little space, and would love to have you as a presenter!

Proposals are due December 15, 2019!

A Note from the Director
Happy November!

Can you believe this semester, this year, is almost over? We're gearing up for fun life stuff - Thanksgiving, winter activities, the holidays, eating all the Halloween candy my kid got last night - and for an amazing learning season!

We'll be in Mississippi next month for Innovation in Action, then to Dallas and Orlando for Creating a Culture of Belonging and Dare to Design in the spring. We're also planning an EdCamp - mark your calendars for February 22nd and stay tuned for more details - and making some updates to our website and services we offer you!

I've set some pretty big goals for November, a month I always think of as the calm before the holiday and conference season storm. Finish some revisions on my dissertation, take some time to dig into a few work projects, read some new books (including finally reading The Stand, since I clearly like fear), and try some new fall recipes.

What are your goals for November?
