The National Institute of Aging is coming to Wisconsin!
The Center for Technology Commercialization is pleased to host the National Institute of Aging (NIA) Division of Extramural Activities Senior Scientific Advisor,
Dr. Rene Etcheberrigaray. 

Dr. Etcheberrigaray comes from the Center for Scientific Review where he most recently served as Deputy Director and previously as Director, Division of Neuroscience Development and Aging.

The SBIR Advance program provides state matching funds, training and other resources to Wisconsin businesses to advance the commercialization of SBIR/STTR-funded technology.  SBIR Advance grants are used for commercialization activities that will accelerate business development and improve company opportunities for Phase 2 and Phase 3 federal awards and for investor funding.

Connect Your Tech with NASA - Opportunity for Wisconsin
SBIR Awardees

Apply to the Pilot of the Midwest Innovation Exchange (an initiative of M7)  if have received a SBIR/STTR Phase II grant in last 3 years.

If your company is accepted into M7's pilot program, you will be eligible to receive up to 8 hours of technical consulting from experts at NASA. In addition, you will get exposure to numerous partners in Wisconsin and Ohio, including NASA and the US Economic Development Administration. This is an excellent way to showcase your technology to NASA and get assistance from their top researchers!

The NIH and CDC have released the annual SBIR Contract Proposal Solicitation (PHS 2020-1), with a submission date of October 23, 2019, 5:00 PM EDT. Please follow the directions in the solicitation very carefully. You must respond exactly to a topic in the solicitation.

Are you developing a cancer technology with a Phase II SBIR/STTR award?
You might be eligible for $4 million
Phase IIB award!

The NCI SBIR Phase IIB Bridge Award is designed to help SBIR- and STTR-funded cancer technologies cross the funding “Valley of Death” between the end of their SBIR/STTR Phase II award and the subsequent round of financing needed to advance toward commercialization. Awardees can request up to $2 million total costs for any single year of the project period, and the overall budget limit is $4 million. SBIR and STTR projects from any Federal agencies are welcome to apply, as long as the project addresses one of the following technical/scientific areas:
  • Cancer Therapeutics and Preventative Agents
  • Cancer Imaging Technologies, Interventional Devices, and In Vivo Diagnostics
  • In Vitro and Ex Vivo Cancer Diagnostics and Prognostics
  • Technologies for Cancer Prevention and Control, Supportive Care, and Survivorship
  • Tools and Model Systems for Cancer Research
