The 1 January 2016 amendments to the VEET Regulations include the following regulatory changes to Schedule 34 (Commercial Lighting):-
Inclusion of variable Annual Operating Hours based on space type and/or BCA classification in which lighting upgrade occurs.
Inclusion of non-building based lighting upgrade activities (including on roads, in a public space, or installation of traffic signals) .
Inclusion of new asset lifetime references – which provide for a lighting upgrade which only involves the installation of a lighting control device and no other lighting equipment
Inclusion of new types of lighting control devices and corresponding control multiplier values.
Changes in the number of VEECs awarded for activities due to changes in the greenhouse abatement coefficients for electricity
These changes will take effect for all commercial lighting upgrades conducted in Victoria after 1st January 2016.
