June General Meeting: Tuesday, June 9th

Please join us  for our Annual June General Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 9 starting at 7:30PM. After a quick overview of the museum’s past year, we have a great speaker planned for the evening.

Sacrameno Author Cheryl Stapp will speak on her latest book, The Stagecoach in Northern California:  Rough Rides, Gold Camps and Daring Drivers. The Gold Rush brought the stagecoach to California, and Cheryl Stapp will entertain us with stories of a long ago era when stagecoaches traversed the formidable Sierra Nevada, bringing people, supplies and gold.

Join us for a fascinating evening as Cheryl relates stories of coachmen, highwaymen, accidents and disasters.

Admission is FREE.  We hope to see you there!

2015 Antique & Appraisal Faire

Thanks to everyone who came to our 2014 Antique Sale and Appraisal Faire.  Because of last year's great success, we are scheduling a two day event for August of 2015.

Once again, professional appraisers from Michaan’s Auction House will be on hand to appraise visitors’ relics and family heirlooms.   We will also have an Antique Sale as we liquidate some of the treasures from our inventory.

On both days, we will have demonstrations, displays of unique collections, FREE museum tours, and live musical entertainment from the Drop In Blue Grass Band.   Save the dates and join us for a fun weekend:

Saturday, August 29 11:00am – 4:00pm
Sunday, August 30 Noon – 4:00pm

Michaan’s Auctions, a leading, full service auction house and antiques dealer is once again providing the appraisers onsite for both days. At the time of the appraisal, a verbal estimate will be provided, deeming what your property may sell for at auction. Contracts will also be available for consignment with Michaan’s.

On-line reservations are available, starting June 10th, by clicking HERE.

Our Temporary Exhibit:

Homemade Handiworks ending soon!

Our current temporary exhibit, "Homemade Handiworks of Sunnyvale," is only open for a few more days before our volunteers take it down and start preparations for our next special exhibit.  So now is the time to plan your first or final visit to this amazing collection of items created by the industrious citizens of Sunnyvale.

The exhibit will be open to the public through Tuesday, June 9th during the museum's normal public hours (Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday from noon to 4pm).

It will also be open before our Annual June General Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 9 starting at 7:30PM.  Be sure to see it before it's gone.
