Museum Spring Victorian Teas
Spring Teas: April 26-27 and May 4

Our Spring Victorian Teas are less than a month away.  They are scheduled for April 26 & 27 (Saturday & Sunday) and May 4 (Sunday) at 2pm.

The Teas will include a vintage Fashion Show.  It will also highlight our new exhibit, "Four Generations of a Sunnyvale Family," that will be newly opened for the weekends.

Remember that the Teas make a great early Mother's Day gift for that special women in your life.

If you are interested in reserving a place for this unique experience or setting up a private tea for your organization, please visit the Heritage Park Museum Gift Shop (570 East Remington, Sunnyvale) or call the museum at 408-749-0220 for reservations.  Come and partake in this lovely event.

Our Spring Garage Sale that was scheduled for March was rained out (by some much needed rain), so we have rescheduled.  The new date is Saturday, May 10th from 8AM to 2PM at 795 South Wolfe Road (near the corner of Wolfe & Iris).

If you want to drop off donations for the event, items can be dropped off during the day of the sale or contact the museum for more information.

We will have a large variety of items available--antiques, kitchen items, dinnerware, tools, books, toys, and much more. We hope to see you there!

Memories of the Great Depression
Have you seen our temporary exhibit: "Memories of the Great Depression?" If not, you only have a few days left.

The exhibit will run until Thursday, April 10th, and then we will take it down and work on our new exhibit to be opened in time for our Spring Teas at the end of the month.

We are open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.

Be a Part of Sunnyvale History

The Sunnyvale Heritage Museum is working on a digital version of our Technology Timeline.   Kids and teens can participate in this interesting project by illustrating stories and questions to trigger new innovations.  They will also learn how to become inventors and innovators.  We are looking for drawings illustrating the future and the past.

Contest began:    Saturday, Feb 15, 2014

Entry deadline:    Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 12 midnight

Prize winning illustrations will be published on the Museum’s website, displayed in the upstairs gallery, and published in the final Sunnyvale Technology Timeline iBook created by StoryRobin, Inc.  A special reception will be held on Sunday, June 8th to display and award the winning entries.

Go to http://www.storyrobin.com/workshops/6 for complete details and entry form.

Easter is coming!

The museum will be CLOSED for Easter Sunday, April 20th.  So you only have a few more weeks to pick up those special gifts to fill your Easter Basket.

Our Museum Gift Shop has a great selection and is open during normal museum operating hours (Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 4pm).

"Great Depression" Exhibit Reception

Thanks to everyone who attended last month's special reception for our exhibit "Memories of the Great Depression."  We are glad that attendees had a good time.

Thanks to The Stargeezers (and our Society President Jim Reynolds) for entertaining the crowd. People enjoyed our 1930s themed refreshments (Spam, Ritz Crackers) and also getting to view and interact with our expanded exhibit for the day.

To learn more about the reception, CLICK on any of the photos below.

Remember that you have until this Thursday (April 10th) to see the exhibit before our volunteers start packing up the items to make way for a new exhibit.
