FWCBD a Poppy Award Finalist
#WharfMeetsSquare Campaign Nominated

In February of 2015 the Fisherman's Wharf CBD partnered with the Union Square BID on a Valentine's-themed campaign in which the two districts were "dating" for the month of February. Due to the success of this creative campaign, the CBD is now a finalist in The Visit California Poppy Awards, a biennial contest that honors the best and brightest of California tourism promotion. In order to become a finalist the CBD competed against other nominees, including some of the largest Destination Marketing Organizations in the state. The CBD and the BID are nominated in the category of Best Collaborative Regional Marketing Campaign. The winners will be announced at an awards gala on February 23.
Wish us luck!

Getting Around During Super Bowl 50
Transportation impacts from Jan 23 to Feb 12

Four main streets closures will be in place for
Super Bowl activities. For more information visit  and the SFMTA blog MovingSF.
  • Market Street, between Beale and Steuart streets
  • Southbound Embarcadero, from Washington to Don Chee Way
  • Beale, Main, Spear, Steuart streets from Market to Howard streets
  • Howard Street between 3rd and 4th streets; partial closure on Howard between 4th and 5th streets
Security measures surrounding Super Bowl City will limit access to the event streets. There will be four main public entrances: one on Market Street (just east of Beale/Davis) and three along the Embarcadero (at Washington, Harry Bridges Plaza and Don Chee Way).

The F-Market/Wharves line will operate with streetcars on the Embarcadero between Fisherman’s Wharf and Don Chee Way at Steuart Street across from the Ferry Building, and with buses from the Castro to Don Chee Way at Steuart Street. There will be an easy transfer between the streetcar and buses at Steuart Street and Don Chee Way.

Nightly Muni Metro closures for the Muni Subway System Upgrades will be completed before Super Bowl activities begin. Muni metro will resume nightly service in time for Super Bowl events.
