FWCBD's Top 3 Offenders
The SFPD and FWCBD Target the District's Worst Offenders
The PIERsafe committee and the FWCBD Ambassadors have been working with Captain Lazar and our neighborhood officers to target three of our district's worst offenders.
The goal of this strategic initiative is to build a case against each offender in order to create a stay away order to keep the offenders out of our district permanently.
How you can help -- Sharing Information on Townsquared
To assist the street population in our district, the Fisherman’s Wharf CBD is committed to working with the SFPD and the Homeless OutreachTeam. Our organization has developed a compassionate plan to deal with inappropriate street behavior. Our preferred course of action is to align individuals with the appropriate resources and care.
The Top 3 have been announced on Townsquared so that constituents can comment and share information. By creating a public record of these offenses, everyone can contribute. Our ambassadors will also reach out to businesses that have had previous issues with the Top 3 to request their assistance chronicling any violations and/or issues. We encourage you to contact the ambassadors directly via phone or text at 415-726-3088, or the office at firstname.lastname@example.org, 415-673-3530.
Operation Slight of Hand
SFPD Initiative Targeting 3 Card Monte Gambling
In January the SFPD started an initiative to crack down on Three Card Monte/slight of hand games and illegal gambling in the district. More sophisticated crews can make upwards of $3,000 a day in Fisherman's Wharf.
To date, Captain Lazar has reported that multiple arrests have been made.
Do Not Trespass Signs Available
Please Make Sure the Updated Sign is Displayed
As part of an ongoing effort to maintain clean and safe sidewalks and to discourage trespassing, our ambassadors are in the district seven days a week. Please contact them for the 2016 Do Not Trespass signs, they will deliver them to your business.
President's/Valentine's Day Weekend
The FWCBD Prepares for Our Best Attended Weekend
When ranking the top ten days of traffic to Fisherman’s Wharf for the 2014/2015 fiscal year, the February 13-15

and the Fleet Week Festival!
To help with the added crowds that we anticipate for February 13-15 2016, the FWCBD has requested 4 Parking Control Officers for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Two officers will be stationed from 11-6pm at Jefferson & Powell, and two officers will be stationed from 11-6pm at Jefferson and Taylor. We are also requesting two 10b police officers to assist Feb 13, Saturday, 6-10pm, Feb 14, Sunday, 6-10pm and Feb 15, Monday 4-8pm.

To assess the impact of SB50 in our district, the FWCBD compared the 2015 Sunday-Sunday counts to the same week-long period in 2016. In 2015 310,724 people visited the district during that period of time compared to 366,562 in 2016. This results in an 18% increase in foot traffic year over year from 2015 to 2016. We also compared the Thursday to Sunday of Super Bowl weekend in 2015 and 2016. While the dates are different, in 2015 we counted 213,871 people versus 228,345 in 2016, showing a 6.8% increase in the traffic during a Super Bowl weekend.
