Preventing Car Break-Ins in the District
City-wide car break-ins are steadily on the rise. At our last board meeting Captain Lazar reported that SF had an estimated 26,000 car break-ins in 2015 alone. The Wharf continues to be a hot spot for break-ins and was featured in the CBS news report below:
Please remind your customers to take all of their valuables with them. Let's kick auto break-ins to the curb! Introduces the Knowledge Center is a website designed for our constituents to access information about FWCBD initiatives, committees, visitor demographics and footfall counts. The newly created Knowledge Center page contains district statistics, informations about phase two of the Jefferson Street revitalization, our Springboard pedestrian counts (featured here every month) and Destination Analysts survey results.

Snapchat Geofilter Billboard
A Big Win for Fisherman's Wharf Marketing!
A Snapchat geofilter was created by the FWCBD to allow app users within the neighborhood to add a fun Fisherman's Wharf frame around their photos. In a creative new advertising campaign, Snapchat chose 50 filters from around the world to feature on billboards. The Fisherman's Wharf filter was selected and is currently on a billboard at the intersection of Van Ness and Lombard. The campaign and Fisherman's Wharf received a large amount of press for the campaign from outlets such as Business Insider and AdWeek. Make sure to use the Fisherman's Wharf filter next time you take a snap!

The Wharf By the Numbers
People Counting Devices Track Wharf Footfall
Each month we share our pedestrian counts for the previous month and previous year. March footfall shows a decrease of 10.7% over the same dates during the previous year.
