Faculty Grant Program -
Say Thank you to LHWHS Faculty

Our teachers strive to enhance the delivery of curriculum in innovative ways. Ideas and opportunities may arise for curricular programs now available due to the new facilities.  The impact of such ideas should not be missed. To be immediately responsive, the LHWHSPA developed the Faculty Grant Program, which addresses faculty and staff requests throughout the year and supports your children today.

We understand the importance of investing your money where you can see its impact.  By investing in the Faculty Grant Program, your gift, of any amount, will be utilized for programs in the classroom and beyond.  As a Parent Association, our goal is to help teachers quickly put their ideas into action so your child experiences the potential to benefit, while still enrolled.

How you can help:
By Mail: Make your check out to LHWHSPA - memo line: Faculty Grant Program.  Please provide your contact information and child's name(s)/grade, and mail to 1201 South Warson Road, St Louis, MO 63124

Online: Make a donation from our Parent Association website: www.laduehighpa.com/payments.  It’s simple, allows space for a comment, and can be completed 24/7.

The LHWHSPA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization so your donation is tax-deductible and available for corporate matching.  The LHWHSPA follows a strict audit and bank statement review protocol, so that you may be confident that your donations are used for their intended purpose.

We truly appreciate your support.

Sincerely,

Your 2018 - 2019 Ladue High Parent Association Executive Committee

TOP DOWN: A painted journey through demolition in St. Louis

‪May 17 - July 17, 2019‬

Opening Reception: ‪Friday, May 17, 6-8 PM‬ LHWHS Spirtas Art Gallery

Each summer, the Ladue Horton Watkins High School Art Gallery will feature a community spotlight exhibit that will highlight stories and artists from our community.

In our inaugural exhibit of this series we are featuring the art of Eric J. Spirtas. Eric (‘84) is a community leader, entrepreneur and husband of Janie Handelman Spirtas (‘85) and parent of three Ladue Schools graduates, Connor (‘14), Madeline (‘16) and Anna (‘19). Eric will be telling the story of his family business, Spirtas Wrecking Company in St. Louis, through his newfound love of painting and the arts.

We will be having an opening reception ‪on Friday, May 17 from 6 to 8 p.m., when we will be announcing a very generous donation by the Spirtas family and the respective naming of the “Spirtas Gallery.” All are welcome to attend.

Learn more about the exhibit and its genesis in this video

For more information about available naming opportunities, please see our website.

SENIOR CLASS NEWS

To ensure that your Senior receives his/her cap and gown at rehearsal he/she must have paid all fines and returned all materials (laptop, textbooks, etc.) A letter mailed home listed everything that must be turned in/paid, in order to receive the cap and gown. (Please note: If he/she has an AP exam after rehearsal and wants to keep the textbook until the exam, he/she may do so, but will not receive the cap & gown until you the book is returned.)

Your Senior may come up to school anytime during school hours Monday to return materials/pay fines.  If they opt not to come up today or Monday, they will be able to return materials/pay fines on Tuesday before rehearsal in the cafeteria beginning at 12:30pm.  Please arrive promptly at 12:30pm to pay fines/return items as this can take a while and rehearsal will begin promptly at 1:00pm. Please remember to bring a check or cash to pay fines. Each department collects their fines separately, so if you have multiple fines to pay, you will need multiple checks. On Tuesday for rehearsal, please enter through the cafeteria doors.

Finally, we have an amazing new athletic field and we would like to utilize this to take the first ever class picture out on the field using a drone!  As soon as we have practiced for graduation, seniors will put on their gowns and progress out onto the field for a picture.  This is another reason it will be important to clear fines prior to rehearsal, as you will want your gown to participate in this picture.  (If you’re planning to hold onto a book for AP exams and won’t have your gown, but still want to participate in the picture, please wear Ladue blue to rehearsal so that you will match the group in the aerial shot.)

Schedule for Tuesday, 5/14:
12:30-1:00pm—Pay Fines & Return Materials in the Cafeteria
1:00-2:30pm—Rehearsal & Class Picture in Gowns
3:00pm—Meet at elementary school entrances for a picture and then enter to visit teachers. (We still have 8 seats available in the Ladue van if you would like a ride to and from the elementary schools.  Complete this form to sign up.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call me (993-5405).  I look forward to seeing everyone at graduation rehearsal.
