Art can be creepy!

I walked to an event downtown last night, actually got out a few blocks early so I could stroll the last few blocks. Stopped for a moment at California and Kearny, looked up at one point and "WOAH, WHAT THE F(@#*?! Shivers. Three very unsettling statues at the tippy top of a building. I couldn't believe my eyes. Turns out art makes you feel things even from 23 floors away.

Like any good 21st century woman, I Googled today to learn about the statues. They were a commission by Muriel Castanis in the 1980s. Her work... wow! Atlas Obscura has the full scoop.

If you're in the area, you owe yourself a stop to see them for yourself.

For your eyes...

Watch as an expert restorer cleans and brings an antique toy piano. It's M E Z M E R I Z I N G. The extra-wild thing is you can buy almost all the equipment this person uses on Amazon. Vertical Sandblast Cabinet, anyone?

Art update!

Events where you can see and buy my art:
  • Sept 1: SF Zine Fest, SF County Fair building
  •  Oct 19-20: SF Open Studios at my actual Stew! Details to come
Just think how nice it'll feel to get into bed later.

What do you call a melon that won't get last-minute married?

See u later, sweets.
