Clean Energy Systems Analyst Externship (Graduate students)
Details: The Advanced Technology Cooperative (ATC) would like to hire a graduate student in engineering, law, economics, or related field, as an extern. Start date is negotiable, preferably available to start ASAP. More details can be found by following the 'More Info" button below.  Amount: $3,000.

Out to Innovate Scholarships (Undergrad, Graduate, community college transfer students)
Goal: Intended for LGBTQ+ undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in STEM programs. The scholarships are designed to promote academic excellence and increased visibility of talented LGBTQ+ students in STEM careers. All have same application portal.
  • Graduate Scholarships: 1st place – $8K. 2nd place – $3K
  • Undergraduate Scholarships: 1st place – $8K. 2nd place – $3K
  • Community College Transfer Scholarships: $1.5K
  • Avangrid Scholarship: $5K
  • InPhi Scholarship: $5K

Deadline: June 5   
IEEE Power & Energy Society (Undergrads in engineering)
Goal: To provide scholarships and real world experience to undergraduates who are interested in power and energy engineering careers. Amount: $2,000.
Application Deadline: June 30   
Climate Change New Mexico (NM Undergrad & Grads)
Goal: To fund innovative and thoughtful proposals from students across the disciplines to research any aspect of climate change impacting New Mexico. Amount: $2,000.
 
Application Deadline: July 1   
NSF: Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC)
Goal: To significantly increase the number of U.S. citizens and permanent residents receiving post-secondary degrees in the computing disciplines, and to encourage participation of other underrepresented groups in the discipline.
  • New Alliance Proposals - $750K per year for up to 3 years
  • Demonstration Projects - $300K for up to 2 years
Deadline: June 14  
NSF: Resilient & Intelligent NextG Systems (RINGS)
Goal: The goal of the RINGS program is to approach the design of NextG network systems from a different perspective by considering resilience as the primary consideration while aiming for superior performance. In this program NSF is partnering with OUSD R&E, the NIST, Apple, Ericsson, Google, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Nokia, Qualcomm, and VMware.
Amount: up to $1M and up to 3 years in duration.
Deadline: July 29   
NSF: Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers Program (IUCRC) 
Goal: Catalyze breakthrough pre-competitive research by providing a structure for academic researchers to conduct fundamental, pre-competitive research of shared interest to industry and government organizations. Award Amount: Varies by Phase. Planning Grant: $20K. Phase I: $150K per year. Phase II: $100K per year. Phase II+:$150K per year. Phase III: $50K per year. Eligibility: Institutions of Higher Education. PI must be tenured faculty.
Preliminary Proposal (Required): September 8     
DoD: DEPSCoR - Research Collaboration
Goal: To create basic research collaborations between a pair of researchers and introduce potential applicants to the DoD’s unique research challenges and its supportive research ecosystem. Amount: $200K per year for three years.
