Optimal Scholarships (Undergraduate, Graduate, & Military Vets)
Open to students attending a public educational institution, and working towards a certificate, diploma, or degree.
Amount: $5,000
Application Deadline: September 30     
NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (MS and PhD students)
Goal: Provide three years of support for the graduate education of individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant research achievements in STEM or STEM education. Women, members of underrepresented minority groups, persons with disabilities, veterans, and undergraduate seniors are strongly encouraged to apply.

Paliwal Club of 100 (Female students)
Goal: To support high potential young women in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) who show financial need.
Amount: $500 -$1,000 
 Application Deadline: October 16     
GEM Fellowships (UNM & NMSU MS & PhD)
PhD Fellowship Goal: Increase the number of underrepresented minorities in science & engineering programs.
MS Fellowship Goal: Promote the benefits of a master's degree within the industry. 
Amount: PhD: At least $16,000 per year. MS: At least $16,000 over the length of graduate program.

   Application Period: July 1 - November 13     
NSF: Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)  
Goal: To support active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the REU program. *Students this announcement is not for you. This is an announcement for professors to ask for funding to create a program for you*
Full Proposal Deadline: August 26     
NSF: Research Experiences for Teachers in Engineering and Computer Science 
Goal: To support active long-term collaborative partnerships between K-12 STEM teachers, full-time community college faculty, university faculty and students, and industry partners through participation in summer research experiences with engineering and computer science faculty researchers. Amount/Duration: The maximum total request for a Site is $600,000 for a duration of up to three years.  
Full Proposal Deadline: September 30     
NSF: Discovery Research PreK-12 (DRK-12)
Goal: To enhance the learning and teaching of STEM by preK-12 students and teachers, through research and development of STEM education innovations and approaches. Award Amount: Level I: up to $450K w/ up to a 3-year duration. Level II: up to $3M w/ up to a 4-year duration. Level III: projects up to $5M w/ up to a 5-year duration.
Full Proposal Deadline: October 7
