February 2021

Well finally, February has made its way. I can't say I suffered from the so-called January Blues, because I have had them since March 2020.

However, it's a good feeling knowing that were already into the second month of the year. It won't be long before we all have that extra spring in our step as the dark mornings and short evenings become brighter and longer.

For those that don't know as well as writing, I also work for the NHS and I feel extremely lucky to be able to say that I have had my first Covid-19 vaccine. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues who work in the NHS, it has been and still is a trying time, but it's one that we shall overcome.
This morning as I write we lost Captain Sir Tom Moore.
Captian Tom, we salute you.

Last month I told you about my writing desk and the desk chair that I was using was not comfortable at all. So much so, I had not written anything at the desk, due to not being able to sit comfortably for any period of time.

As promised I said I would show you all my new belter of a chair. It's got everything on, it can recline with the pull of a knob. It has a footrest stored underneath, and believe it or not, it's also an electric chair, not the one that kills you, (he says) but it actually vibrates and massages your back as you sit in it.
It really is the bee's knees (do bees have knees?)

Where am I at with my first book? I hear you all asking.
So, I'm currently at 55,000 words, and I anticipate the book being 70,000 words. So I am on the last leg. I've got 3 maybe even 4 more chapters to write before I manage to write the famous words 'THE END'.
I can't tell you how excited I will be when I have managed to get those toe magic words down.

I have got some restructuring to do, and possibly giving my numbered chapters some fancy titles. I'll be honest I am a long, long long way away before this book is ready to be published.

When it is written, It will have to undergo an edit, then a copy edit, book cover design, layout design, beta readers, and many more factors to take in.

I'll be honest this is a new world that I am entering.
But it's one that I take with pride knowing that one day, whether my book is a best seller or just sat on my shelf. Either way, I will be proud knowing I have actually written a book.

So that's my February 2021 update. I hope when March comes I will be telling you all that I have written the magic words.

Check out my social media to find out first.
Love to you all, stay safe.
