An important trip for disability rights

From June 14 – June 16, we went to the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) Annual Conference in Baltimore. We both serve on the board of Missouri Protection and Advocacy (MO P&A), who covered our expenses. MO P&A is a federally mandated system in the state of Missouri which provides protection of the rights of persons with disabilities through legally-based advocacy. Read more...

HB 1565 Becomes a Law

On Thursday June 9, Governor Nixon signed into law House Bill 1565. This law will increase the asset limit for people enrolled in the MO HealthNet (Medicaid) program. The asset limit has not increased in over 45 years, so this is welcome news to the disability community. Read more...

Founded in 1990, the Friends of Boone County Family Resources assists with the diverse and unmet needs of people with disabilities and their families. In addition, the Friends supports activities of Boone County Family Resources that enhance the lives of people with developmental disabilities such as the annual Holiday Party. Join us at the August 4 meeting to learn more about becoming a member of the Friends and hear from Dolores J.
