From Fakarava to California

From Coral Reefs to Redwood Trees... finally we made it back to the homeland with the babies!

We truly wish you & your families a wonderful, healthy, and happy New Year .

A message from Coral Reefs

Stronger community means more resilience.

In the Society Islands, coral reefs are bouncing back after cyclones in the mid 2000s.

One important reason is... thanks to French Polynesia's five archipelagos, even when some areas got damaged, there's always healthy coral somewhere providing new polyps for reproduction.*

Acting in the interest of the whole supports the wellbeing of the individual.

So we say, in 2022... let's keep strengthening community! Reach out to friends, family, and strangers. Ask yourself, how can I brighten someone's day, today? So we can laugh together, create bonds, and heal wounds. Doing so, we are stronger and healthier ourselves.

May 2022 be your best year yet :)

*Other reasons for coral recovery: water temps, fishing regulation, sediment control.
Mermaids Unite🧜‍♀️
In October, four water women came aboard: Sarah, Evelyn, Kristen, and Jaime.

We sailed from Fakarava to Apataki, to hide from an off-season storm, and then had a smooth two night passage to the waterfalls of Tahiti.

Highlights: sailing dinghy workshops, snorkeling the passes, swim lessons for the babies, and whale watching in between waterfall hikes.

Follow our blog as we catch up on videos of the trip.

Senior Stoke 💪
In September and November, we hosted two trips with adventure-loving elders: Bill & Cathy returned to explore Tuamotus for 18 days, then Peter & Sally and Claude & Susan had a week with us between Tahiti and Moorea.

We're proud of Selaví being such a great space for everyone!

Some highlights: breathwork classes, cultural exchanges with local friends, snorkeling in pretty beaches. Stay posted for upcoming videos on these trips.
Visiting the Homeland

We've had a turbulent yet fulfilling visit to California for the holidays...

Immediately upon arrival, the babies (and us) got sick with a bad cold, which lasted weeks. This was our most challenging period since the babies left the hospital.

Now we are all fine again, so much gratitude for our health!

Some highlights: Sabrina took Kaiana and Naiyah to the Monterey Bay Aquarium; Kristian visited his family in Brazil; we're now re-connecting with friends in Santa Barbara for Christmas and New Years.  Say hi if you're around 🙌
