Pre-announcement of ENoLL’s 8th wave

All public and private organisations actively committed to empower users and citizens to take part in sustainable innovation processes are invited to apply for membership in the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL). Applications for the ENoLL’s 8th wave will be collected from February until May 2014. The welcoming of the new ENoLL members will take place during the 5th ENoLL Living Lab Summer School (end of summer 2014). More information for applications will be posted on the ENoLL’s website in the coming weeks.
The 6th InnoMatNet Workshop
The 6th InnoMatNet Workshop: Exploring the Role of Local Communities in Materials Research which will take place in Brussels on January 21  at the Egg. This workshop will explore the importance of involving and empowering citizens, local communities and local creative industries/designers in material research. More Information:

InnoMatNet launches competition

InnoMatNet launched a competition on the use of Sustainable Materials in building industry. It is open to practitioners (architects, engineers, material designers) based in Europe. The deadline for presenting the entries is May 31, 2014.

ACE Call for Applications

The ACE Acceleration Programme is Calling For Applications. This tailor-made acceleration programme will provide innovative start-ups and high growth ICT companies with direct assistance to accelerate their move into cross border and international markets. Three ENoLL Effective Members are partners of this project: Forum Virium Helsinki, iMinds, City Lab Coventry. More information and APPLY!

Le Monde: a report on City Lab Coventry

Le Monde recently dedicated an article to the City Lab Coventry (in French) describing its innovative solutions in key areas such as Digital Media, Low Carbon Vehicles, Integrated Transport/Logistics and the like. City Lab Coventry is a Living Lab working on a number of different areas: access to citizens, vehicles, buildings, roads and IT infrastructure, a serious games studio/app lab, business support (working with SMEs), large scale low-carbon vehicle, low impact building, digital media and assisted living trials. Read the article here

1st European Conference on the Future Internet - ECFI
 
The 1st European Conference on the Future Internet will take place in Brussels from the 2nd to the 3rd of April, 2014. The conference aims at bringing together key stakeholders to discuss how Europe can achieve global leadership in ICT by 2020 through innovative Internet technologies. SPECIFI pre-FIA session in Athens

This session entitled Future Internet boosting Creativity in Europe: scaling platforms, data, tools, services and communities will take place on March 8, 2014 during FIA Athens 2014. It will be co-organised by SPECIFI, Visionair and ENoLL. The session will revolve the Creative Ring, a new experimental community and platform developed by the SPECIFI project for sharing creative and innovative content and activities all over Europe using advanced Internet technologies. More information will be soon released on the ENoLL and SPECIFI websites. 

IDeALL’s final Innovation Exchange day

IDeALL is a project aiming to connect two user-centred communities – Living Labs and Design for All professionals – to support communities in building their public policy and to increase the competitiveness of companies. The project will be concluded with an Innovation Exchange Day that will take place on January 16, 2014 at the Barcelona Design Hub. More information soon available. 
 

 

The Innovation Convention 2014

The second Innovation Convention will take place on March 10-11, 2014 at Square, Brussels Meeting Center (Belgium). The Convention provides a platform to debate over policies that will contribute to build a stronger and more effective research and innovation ecosystem in Europe. ENoLL will organise a session to discuss how open Innovation and Living Labs can shape the future of cities and regions.

In the ENoLL’s website you can find relevant publications from the ENoLL members and our Living Lab community. This includes original research and project white papers, as well as other relevant and interesting titles about Living Labs.           
Call for papers on Disruptive innovation in the ICT industries

Taking place in Brussels (June 22-25, 2014), the ITS Europe 2014 conference brings together academics, policy makers, industry analysts to discuss their findings on telecom economics, regulation, broadband, next generation networks, new services, business models, media and so on. 15 January 2014: deadline for abstracts and panel session suggestions.
