Public Awareness Reference Group - call for EOIs

The Institute is launching an online public awareness campaign in the lead up to our National Awards. Given the interest that members have expressed in such a campaign, we would like to establish a members’ reference group to help us shape and implement the project. If you would like to apply to join this group, please express your interest to Emma Cayley, National Communications and Marketing Manager.

CAA's Specialist Architecture Listing

The Commonwealth Association of Architects has officially launched their Specialist Architects Listing. The web platform is for global networking between architects, clients, developers and specialist consultants. 

All specialist architects in the Commonwealth with ten years or more of experience, after obtaining membership of the Institute are eligible for listing.

Acumen Update

Based on Acumen Survey findings, and feedback received via the Acumen website and from Chapter Practice Committees, the Acumen Content Review Panel continues to facilitate the improvement of the Acumen practice advisory material, to ensure that it remains relevant to the members and is easy to navigate.

This month, we are happy to introduce the new function of accessing superseded notes as well as revisiting the various methods currently available to search for Acumen content, with a particular recommendation to use the A-Z Index.

Australian Softwood Timber EPD Registration

The Australian Timber industry has registered Softwood timber as part of the new Australiasian EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) program.

The EPD confirms that sawn Australian softwood is a "better than carbon neutral" material in a cradle-to-gate scenario
