With the result of the election result still in the balance with a hung parliament, we are waiting to firm up our advocacy plan for the remainder of the year. Regardless of who wins, we will be advocating strongly for the profession to be recognised for innovative design leadership and will be at the forefront of advising our Federal Government about ways to address key challenges that are facing our towns and cities.

Acumen update - New published notes

Under the direction of the Acumen Content Review Panel, Acumen continues to be updated year-round with new and revised notes, including downloadable resources such as ABIC contracts and guide letters. Acumen covers three primary streams: Practice, Project and Resource.

Remuneration Resolutions for EOFY

The National Committee for Gender Equity is asking all architectural firms to take the initiative of reviewing and reforming their remuneration policies this EOFY.

Leone Lorrimer, NSW member of the Gender Equity Committee, has put together a list of resolutions and guides to help us all make and keep good End of Financial Year Resolutions.

Standards Australia: EOIs still open

The Institute is currently a Nominating Organisation with Standards Australia, and we are currently participating in Standards Australia’s Standards Development activity. The Nominating Organisation appoints a representative to represent the views of that organisation’s interest group during the development of a Standard.

There is a vacancy for a representative to be a member of the Technical Committee FP-020 revising AS 3959.1-20 Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas.

SuperStudio dates are set!

The 24hr competition gives students the opportunity to explore original ideas in response to a brief set by this year’s creative directors Catriona McLeod and John Price. The winning team of three will receive return flights and entry to La Biennale Architeturra 2018!
