From the National President

We are very pleased to welcome Rotterdam-based architect, Mechthild Stuhlmacher, to our shores. Mechthild has joined us as our latest Droga Architect in Residence. While in residence, Mechthild will research the relationship between inside and outside, buildings and context, architecture and landscape, specifically within the context of care-related programs, to the design of well working, ‘healthy’ buildings for care and education-related programs.

Speaker profile: Patrick Coulombel

Patrick Coulombel is the latest speaker confirmed for AusIndoArch. He is the co-founder of the Foundation Emergency Architects. Since its creation in 2001 the foundation goes all over the world to handle natural, technologic or human disasters. They remain close to the victims in order to quickly restore a decent way of living.

Gold Medal Tour

Phil Harris and Adrian Welke, co-founders of Troppo, have been awarded the 2014 Gold Medal at the Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards.

The Gold Medal tour kicked off in June in Darwin and will travel around the country throughout September and October.

Call for Creative Directors - Qld Regional Conference 2015

We are seeking EOIs for the role of Creative Director for the 2015 Qld Regional Architecture Conference. Following the success of Spirit of Place held in Cairns, Sept 2013, the Institute announces a second Qld Regional Conference planned to take place in 2015. The appointed Creative Director will be responsible for the conceptualisation and execution of the 2015 conference.
