From the National President

November is set to be a great month for architecture!
Later this week I will be in Darwin for two great events: the presentation of the 2014 National Architecture Awards and AusIndoArch – Tropfix. While these are two very different events, they are both important to the profession. The awards is a significant opportunity to showcase and promote the work that Australian architects are doing – to industry and the broader community; while AusIndoArch is about architects coming together to unpack particular issues, in particular designing for the tropics.

International architects sought for an experience of a lifetime

Applications are now open for the Droga Architect in Residence program, the first residency of its kind in the southern hemisphere. The successful architect/s will have the chance to live and work in Sydney for a three-month period. The residency is awarded to architects based outside Australia who exemplify the highest standard of excellence in architectural design, research and practice.

2014 Regional Speaker Series

Nigerian architect Kunle Adeymi is founder and principal of NLÉ, an architecture, design and urbanism practice, based in Amsterdam. Queensland home gets popular vote

A consummate Brisbane home is the winner of the People’s Choice Award, part of the Australian Institute of Architects’ 2014 National Architecture Awards.

Oxlade Drive House by James Russell Architect was selected by voters from the 13 houses shortlisted in the National Awards’ Residential Architecture categories.
