Calling on all young photographers…
The Australian National Botanic Gardens is hosting its Annual Schools Photographic Competition again this year!
Come and visit the Gardens this Autumn, and capture that special shot that showcases the beauty of the Gardens. There are cash prizes and the opportunity for your work to feature in a dedicated exhibition.
To be eligible, all photos must feature some aspect of the Gardens, such as its plants, wildlife, scenery or its community.
For high school and college students, there are three categories in the competition:
- Altered reality - for images that have been manipulated digitally or in darkroom processing.
For primary school students, there are two categories:
There are five prizes in each of the above categories and awards for Commended and Highly Commended. There are also two prizes in each category for the schools of the first and second place-getters. As usual, there is a Peoples’ Choice award of $50.

The closing date for entries is 24 September 2021. Entry forms will be on the Friends website soon - but for now, start snapping away!
