One of the wonderful things about the Christmas season is the opportunity to bless others.  Due to COVID-related restrictions, FISH has not been able to collect needed food and hygiene items during this month. Next week we have the opportunity to bless them and the needy families in the Gig Harbor area by collecting items at Lighthouse.

Tuesday, December 15th, will be our big collection day as the FISH Food Bank van will be parked in our lower lot for the day to load what has been collected at the end of the day. Our goal is to collect at least 5 items from each family for a total of roughly 1300 items. We will be collecting items all next week. Thank you for your help to spread God’s love to the community.

Most Needed Items:

Peanut Butter
Spaghetti sauce
Juice – large
Mac and Cheese

Canned beans
Jam and Jelly
Canned Chili

Dear Lighthouse families,

First, I want to say thank you for all of your efforts on being mindful to help mitigate the spread of COVID during the Thanksgiving break. I am grateful for how many families altered their plans to help reduce the risk. With Christmas break coming up, it represents another opportunity to be mindful of our travel and gatherings to help us continue operating in-person. Let's remain vigilant in protecting our students, staff, and faculty.

We will continue to follow the recommended WA state travel advisory.  If you are traveling out of state, we recommend:

  1. Quarantine for 14 days (preferred)
  2. Quarantine for 10 days, symptom-free
  3. Quarantine for 7 days, with negative COVID test and symptom-free

Thank you again for everyone’s efforts and please communicate with the school if you have any concerns or questions.

Living to serve,

Stephen Roddy
Head of School

Please stop by the Lost and Found, located downstairs near the Middle School Office. There are many uniform sweatshirts and coats, along with water bottles and other miscellaneous items to be picked up. All items left will be donated to charity on Friday, December 18th.

Thank you to all who completed the first quarter parent survey. It is always good for our School Administration and Board of Directors to hear from our families. School leadership is committed to listening to our families as we work together to help guide our future decisions. We had 130 respondents. The School Administration and Board of Directors have read through the results and comments for each question.

We are looking for parents to volunteer in the Student Store, both before and after school. If you’re interested, please contact Shelly Zimmermann at or call 253-649-0511.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR are available on our website.  NOTE: This application is for families who are looking to enroll new students for next year (not currently enrolled for the 2020-21 school year).  The application process begins in March of 2021, but applications can be submitted early.  Applications are processed in the order they are received.  Applications for siblings of enrolled students will be processed first, with Open Enrollment beginning in March 2021.  There is a non-refundable $90 application fee for each student.  IF YOU HAVE A STUDENT(S) CURRENTLY ENROLLED AND ATTENDING SCHOOL AT LCS THIS YEAR (2020-21), DO NOT COMPLETE THE APPLICATION for your student(s). Students currently enrolled at LCS will be automatically re-enrolled through our Continuous Enrollment process beginning in February 2021.

During your Christmas shopping this month, please consider picking up an item for the Lighthouse Auction. Due to COVID restrictions and closures this year, our local businesses have been stretched for donations, so we are asking each family to donate at least one item, experience, or service. Auction items are due to the Development Office by March 13th and can be dropped off in the Main Office. Each and every dollar raised directly benefits our students and helps to offset operating expenses, invest in our school’s greatest needs, and help to advance our student programs. This event is a great opportunity for our families, friends, and the Gig Harbor community to come together in support of our mission and programs.  For more information, please contact our Development Office
