COLD SEASON IS UPON US!

Dear Lighthouse families,

It looks like cold and flu season has started early this year and we need to communicate our specific protocol regarding symptoms, as we strive to continue in-person, on campus.
  1. Please keep your student home if they display even one symptom that is not attributable to known allergies. We need to limit the spread of germs regardless of whether it is COVID or not.  If your child is reporting or displaying one symptom of sickness, they will be sent home. I apologize for the added inconvenience of this, but this will help all of us stay healthy as a community.
  2. Please contact the Main Office if your student is displaying two or more symptoms.  It is likely that we will recommend that your child get tested for COVID and follow the guideline: If COVID testing is negative, stay home until 24 hours after the fever resolves and symptoms improve.  The Main Office and administration can help identify testing locations in your area.  Please report all COVID testing results to the Main Office.
We are going to get through this by working together and doing our best to follow our protocols.  Thank you for your extra efforts in this and I am praying for the health and safety of your family.

Living to serve,

Stephen Roddy

LEGACY BUILDERS WEEK IS OCTOBER 19 - 23, 2020
Please join us on Wednesday, October 21st, at 8:45 AM for a special virtual Legacy Builders Chapel and Program celebrating God's work at Lighthouse.  Program highlights include a time of worship, special guest speakers, and an opportunity to join the Legacy Builders program.  Since 2007, the Legacy Builders Program has provided critical support and funding to continue quality, Christ-centered education, while keeping tuition as affordable as possible.  Each year, generous donors help to fill the gap that exists between the tuition and the cost of educating our students. For more information, contact the Development Office or visit our Legacy Builders webpage
"CAN DO" 2020
Please bring canned goods (non-perishable food and hygiene items) for the Sixth Grade Food Drive to benefit the Key Peninsula Senior Center and Food Bank. Once again, we are weighing the cans instead of counting them.  We are hoping we “Can Do” 5000 pounds again! This is not a competition, but an opportunity to serve and contribute to local families, including senior citizens, who struggle to make ends meet. Late October is a lean time for most food banks because the summer produce is long harvested, and thoughts of Thanksgiving are a few weeks away. To show our appreciation to the class that contributes the most pounds, the sixth graders will invite that class to our annual Root Beer Float Party. This year the Key Peninsula will send a truck on October 26th, which we will load. Start collecting….We CAN DO this!
Join us for a time of prayer Thursday mornings, at 8:20 AM with Mr. Roddy and Mrs. Mathisen in the Conference Room.  Following our prayer time, at 9:00 AM, PFL (Parents for Lighthouse) will be gathering to help teachers with special projects as part of the Hands and Feet program. Thanks for helping to bless our amazing teachers!
