We have some great Christmas activities this month to add some fun to the holiday season.

  • Wednesday, December 16th – A special Christmas Chapel will be happening live in each classroom at a scheduled time.  We are looking forward to creating special Christmas memories and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
  • Christmas-Themed Days – This year, students have the opportunity to show off their festive wear during the last days of school before Christmas break.  All students can wear casual dress on these days as long as they follow the theme of the day.
    • Wednesday, Dec. 16th – Christmas Hat Day
    • Thursday, Dec. 17th – Ugly Sweater Day
    • Friday, Dec. 18th – Red & Green Day

Each December Lighthouse presents opportunities of giving to bless others during the Christmas season.  Below are two special ways to participate this year.

Faculty and Staff Christmas Gift

The Board of Directors would like to bless the hard-working faculty and staff this Christmas season. Typically this ask would happen at our Christmas concert, but this year, Peter Gonnason, board member, spoke in yesterday’s Virtual Town Hall about giving to create a special monetary gift for faculty and staff at Lighthouse. Members of our board will be at the school today at dismissal time to hand out candy canes to the kids and collect any donations you would like to give.  You can also give through the Giving button on the LCS app and through FACTS at this link:

Thank you for your generosity and blessing our Christ-honoring faculty and staff.

FISH Foodbank

The FISH foodbank has been unable to collect donations out in public areas this season due to COVID concerns. To help fill this need, we will be collecting non-perishable food and hygiene items from December 14 - 18th to help the foodbank support the struggling families in the Gig Harbor area. Although we will be collecting items all week, the FISH Foodbank van will be on campus, Tuesday, December 15th, as a special promotion of this giving opportunity.

Dear Lighthouse families,

Thank you for staying up to date with all that is happening at Lighthouse. Your willingness to stay connected has helped to create a unified purpose -- bringing about what is best for students through a quality, Christ-centered education.

Here are some of the main points from the Virtual Town Hall. If you were not able to join us, I encourage you to watch the entire video when you get a chance.

  1. Communication is key to keeping LCS in person
  2. New CDC guidance will be implemented regarding quarantine requirements
  3. New LCS guidance regarding travel advisory

Please contact the Main Office if you would like to follow up with me on any of these topics, and Jessi can schedule a meeting.  Thank you and may the Lord continue to protect you and your family.

Living to serve,

Stephen Roddy

Congratulations to our annual Christmas Card Contest winner, Langley B., 4th grade.  Langley wins a $50 gift card to Michaels, and her beautiful artwork will be prominently featured in our LCS Christmas postcard collection and seasonal promotions.  Great job Langley! This year, there will be four total designs featured on our Christmas cards.  Artists include first-place winner, Langley B., plus three additional students who have received honorable mention for their works of art: Mia V., 3rd grade;  Kate L., 3rd grade; and Rowan M., 1st grade. Thank you to all of our contest participants!
Staff Appreciation Secret Santa  Help spread a little Christmas cheer to all of the amazing people working at Lighthouse this year. Please bring a small $5-10 gift for a staff member during the week of December 14th -18th. You can secretly deliver it yourself or drop it off with Mrs. Isenberg and her Leadership class will deliver it for you. This is your chance to thank the custodial staff for keeping kids safe or tell the kitchen staff how much you appreciate those mornings you don't have to make lunch. Take this opportunity to show someone who usually works behind the scenes that you see them making a difference in our kids' lives. Use this button to sign up for an individual staff member. You can also find the sign-up form on the Parents for Lighthouse (PFL) Facebook page.

Visit the Lighthouse Landing Student Store, across from the Middle School Office, for great gift ideas including "Buy one get one FREE" LCS Spirit Wear. Plus, come and shop for uniform sweatshirts, cold-weather gear, Christmas gifts, and stocking stuffers!

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR are available on our website.  NOTE: This application is for families who are looking to enroll new students for next year (not currently enrolled for the 2020-21 school year).  The application process begins in March of 2021, but applications can be submitted early.  Applications are processed in the order they are received.  Applications for siblings of enrolled students will be processed first, with Open Enrollment beginning in March 2021.  There is a non-refundable $90 application fee for each student.  IF YOU HAVE A STUDENT(S) CURRENTLY ENROLLED AND ATTENDING SCHOOL AT LCS THIS YEAR (2020-21), DO NOT COMPLETE THE APPLICATION for your student(s). Students currently enrolled at LCS will be automatically re-enrolled through our Continuous Enrollment process beginning in February 2021.
Please stop by the Lost and Found, located downstairs near the Middle School Office. There are many uniform sweatshirts and coats, along with water bottles and other miscellaneous items to be picked up. All items left will be donated to charity on Friday, December 18th.

During your Christmas shopping this month, please consider picking up an item for the Lighthouse Auction. Due to Covid restrictions and closures this year, our local businesses have been stretched for donations, so we are asking each family to donate at least one item, experience, or service. Auction items are due to the Development Office by March 13th and can be dropped off in the Main Office. Each and every dollar raised directly benefits our students and helps to offset operating expenses, invest in our school’s greatest needs, and help to advance our student programs. This event is a great opportunity for our families, friends, and the Gig Harbor community to come together in support of our mission and programs.  For more information, please contact our Development Office
