A Message from Stephen Roddy | Head of School
Dear Lighthouse family,
In I Corinthians 12, Paul talks about how because of Christ’s saving work, we are all part of one “body;” the body of Christ. We are all made in the image of God with distinct giftings, talents, experiences, and backgrounds. Although we may have different roles and responsibilities (many parts), we are all valued and serve His purposes. After 17 years of working at Lighthouse in various roles from teacher to part-time cleaning crew to administration, I remain convinced that God is always the head of our school and every employee is important in accomplishing our mission.
In my new role as Head of School, I look forward to leading our school in building God’s kingdom by providing quality, Christ-centered education. While working collaboratively with all employees and listening to family feedback, I will be focusing on the following four areas:
- Upholding our Mission Statement and Core Values: As a Christian school we will continue to use God’s Word to guide our decisions and school practices
- Promote a school culture that all stakeholders uphold: Be in community, All are valued, Take action, Work is worship, and All can lead.
- Continue a rigorous and engaging education that is Christ-centered: Keeping standards high regardless of the challenges that surround us.
- Continue strong fiscal responsibility while pursuing responsible school growth: Keeping what makes Lighthouse distinctive while looking for opportunities to grow and improve.
I am thankful to work with a solid, God-fearing Board of Directors and we will continue to plan strategically about the future of Lighthouse Christian School. I will continue to connect with students, participate in our fun school events, be available to answer questions, and listen to feedback. Although some of our communication channels may slightly change, we will be sharing how you can connect with the right department to receive a timely response in the upcoming newsletters.
May we honor the Lord in what we do in the coming years, and may He richly bless our staff, students, and families with His joy and peace.
Living to serve,
Head of School
