London Funder(g)round

Tim Miles and Paul CJ are organising this for the club
On Sunday 17 September 2017 A fun, team running challenge of 10km distance across London, taking in team challenges and fun activities along the way.

Based on the famous marathon distance underground run, teams must navigate from underground station to station, standing on the platform each time to collect max points!

Teams will finish next to the Thames for brews, bevvies and burgers.

Cost is simply your return train fair there plus an all zones underground card.

A-Z maps and an imaginative sense of humour are especially useful.

To take part you need to be a Redway Runner go to this web site and register and Paul and Tim will be in touch

Green parkrun

Saturday the 18 March is our beginners groups graduation, so we have lots of beginnerss doing parkrun for the first time - so a great way to make them feel welcome is to have a big green parkrun, we will aim to get a group photo near the start at 8:50.

Going to be a great morning

Festival of Running MK

On Sunday we had many runners taking part in each of the events with the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and 20 Mile event - massive thanks to our two cheering points on the course - they make a massive difference when you are running.

Looks like some great performances on the day  - the weather was better than expected - with an extra water feature at the start and that hill at the end made a challenging race.

Many great comments on our cheering points from Redway Runners, but they were certainly noticed by others, this is just one of the comments we got from Andrew; '
Hi I am not a member but just wanted to say I thought the support your club gave all the runners at Sundays running festival was amazing particularly as the weather was horrible - and the thanks for the Jelly babies.'

Formula 5 Duathlon

Our friends at Results Base are offering a massive discount (I am told it could be 40%) for paid Redway Runners for this event at the MK Bowl on the 8 April - so if you have been thinking of doing a running event with some cycling this could be perfect for you

To get the discount use the code in the 'Race Discounts' section of the club weekly mail

The Formula 5 Duathlon takes it’s name from the number of legs in the race…. 5. This will see you run, bike, run, bike and run again over short distances to keep the pace and heart rate high! An early season race for beginners to get their first taste of a multi-sport event and perfect for the hardcore athletes to test their legs after the winter period.

The run course will take you around South Loughton Valley Park while the cycles will be around a 1 mile course around the National Bowl. Courses will be entirely closed to traffic so there’s no looking out for cars just other riders / runners around you.

MK 50 Virtual Challenge

In celebration of Milton Keynes turning 50 we have, in conjunction with Harry's Rainbow, decided to offer a Virtual challenge of MK 50:50. Any profits from the event will go the the Redway Runners charity of the year.

Can you complete a distance of 50 miles in 67 days (MK was born in 1967….see what we did there!) to earn a fantastic bespoke medal to commemorate the occasion, all for the bargain entry fee of £8.

This doesn't have to be running, it can be walking or whatever you like, as long as it's using two feet to the floor! This event is not restricted to Redway Runners only so please feel free to share this post and get your friends to enter too. It works out at only just over 5 miles a week, achievable for all!!!

Entry details are here:…/mk…/virtual-mk5050-challenge/

Miles are to be completed between 23 June and 29 August 2017 and entries close on 1 June 2017.

Lets make this a real celebration.

Beat the Street until 22 March

Exciting news - Beat the Street is now in Milton Keynes to encourage walking, running, cycling, use of the Redways, active travel, participation in physical activity and use of greenspace.

We want to put a Redway Runners team together as we think we might be rather good at it…! There will be over 100 special beeping and flashing sensors, called Beat Boxes, placed across central Milton Keynes – you can tap them with cards to track your journey, score points and win prizes for our team.

Beat the Street has seen more than 300,000 players taking part across the UK in 2016 and is managed by Intelligent Health with full support of Milton Keynes Council’s Sustainable Travel Team as part of the Get Smarter Travel in Milton Keynes programme.

Go to to find out more. The site tells you where you can collect the cards, so when you collect yours, just log on and register it under Redway Runners.
