Many thanks to all those that went along to help club member Mike King with the bag packing for his charity on Christmas Eve, they are also in the on-line edition of the local MK news and should be in a future copy (with a mention for the club and a picture with the club tee).
Thanks also to all the Redway Runners who made a special detour this morning. My faith in human kind has been restored I bloody love you all and will now win London 2016 for sure. Merry Xmas xxx

If you are thinking about getting into running in 2016 and do not know where to start hopefully Redway Runners can help you with your goals and you can have fun along the way.
If you are a beginner or returning to running and want to start at step one then in January we have our beginners group - these are 10 week courses and at the end you will do the MK 5K parkrun and move into other club runs. More on these at: http://www.redwayrunners.com/train/beginners/
You do not need to start with these groups, if you can run then go straight into our club runs - the main runs are Monday and Thursday evenings and Wednesday mornings, in these we have a whole mixture of different runs from easier paced runs to quicker groups and many of our general runs do our 'famous' loop backs so we keep everyone together and safe. Some of these groups do interval type work giving you the chance to work on fitness and strength.
More on these at: http://www.redwayrunners.com/train/weekly-runs/
If you like the longer runs then our Sunday runs are ideal and from January these focus on those working up to the Spring marathon, they start at 9.00am from different places each week - these are very popular in the new year and we get very large numbers of runners - often counted in hundreds of runners.
You will find more on these at: http://www.redwayrunners.com/train/sunday-runs/
Anyway, this is just the essential information to get you started lots more at: http://www.redwayrunners.com/ - we can tell you more about the club, just drop us an e-mail and we will send you more info and add you to the club weekly mail telling you more about what is going on in the club, mail us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are doing a Spring marathon, then only one place to be on a Sunday morning, it is the clubs popular Sunday morning marathon training runs and the class of 2016
Starting from January the Sunday longer option for the run will increase by about 10 minutes each week, peaking ideally for the spring marathons. All the details and starting points are on the club web site at: http://www.redwayrunners.com/train/sunday-runs/
For those who have not done them before you will be running with a group of like minded runners on a run with no pressure, and you run at your own pace - we just ask that if doing the hour option you run for the whole time and if for the longer option you are able to run for 80% of the distance.

Following last January’s successful social evening where over 120 Redway Runners enjoyed an MK Lightning ice hockey match we are organising another trip to the Milton Keynes Lightning ice hockey match on Saturday 16 January 2016. The game starts at 19:00 and is against the Guildford Flame at the ice rink just behind “Argos” and “Toys R Us” near MK Central Station. MK Lightning are having a good season, being 2nd in the league at the time of writing.
We have managed to get an excellent discount on ticket prices. Adults will cost £8.50 (instead of the normal £13.50) and children under 16 years of age will be charged at £4 (instead of the normal £7.00). Those who have never been to ice hockey before are in for an evening of a fast paced, hard hitting game with the odd fight here and there! The game will be over at about 9.15pm. There is a splendid bar and good food and beverage facilities. We will all be seated in a block together which will add to the fun.
To book your seats please can you let Kevin Orchard (email@example.com) know how many tickets you would like? Bank transfers to Redway Runners account:

or a cheque (payable to 'Redway Runners') to Martin will secure your seats. Absolute closing date will be Wednesday 13 January at 17:00.
If anybody fancies it, we are able to skate for free after the game until 11pm, you just need to pay for skate hire on the night at £2.50 each. For those not up for a bit of skating we will move over to Wetherspoons at 171 Midsummer Boulevard for a drink or two after the game.
