Squeaky Bone Update

Not long till we all Squeak our Bones this Sunday! The club page has been updated with a couple of team changes - any other issues please let us know
All the info is on the page but please try to arrive by 9.30, hope to have the green flags out and know who is your team captain (first person named in the team) they should get your teams numbers and pass them out
Do not forget your green tees
Hoping to get a group photo at 9.45am. Race start is 10.00am
Pub is very close afterwards for a post-race drink

Christmas Meal 2013

With all the tickets for the meal on Friday 6 December now sold out you can still get disco only tickets for £2.00 from Martin, Julie or Garry, these are for after 22:00 on the night
We will also now be looking at seating on the night for those eating – if you have any preferences for who you sit with, then please let Garry know (or via Martin) by the 15 November, as he will be doing his best to meet any requests

Although this Sunday is the Squeaky Bone with loads of us not around – we still have a club run at 9.00am from the Cricket Pavilion in Campbell Park with Paul, more details at:

Club Discount – re-leaf

Just updated the club discount from Campbell on the club web site, as below
 
Releaf Professional Massage and Athletic Conditioning.
Campbell currently offer DLRR @ SPECIAL CLUB RATE of £25 per hour for Sports Massage Session or Injury & rehabilitation plan and advice.
The current rate is £30 soon to be increased to £34 per hour.  The 1 hour session is unique but provides a much better focused result.
I treat clients how I expect to be treated and after 25 years’ experience in running, triathlon and cycling I can provide fantastic advice.

New evening run

Up and Running store in Milton Keynes are starting evening runs on Wednesday as well from next week, 6 November - think you need to register at:

Cross County Championships

Last year we put out a big team for the Bucks/Beds championships at Campbell Park well for 2014 they are at Stockwood Park in Luton on Saturday 4 Jan 2014. The main races are men (11.2K) at 13.00 and Women (8K) at 14.00.
So who wants to enter – if you do we need a cheque for your race entry of £5, payable to ‘David Lloyd Redway Runners’ put in an envelope with the following details on the back of the envelope by the 10 December:

  • ·         EA Number, if known
·         Also R or B, R is for resident of county or B for Born in county

Beginners group at parkrun MK 2 November

We have our Tuesday evening beginners group doing parkrun this Saturday and Andy W will be looking after the group on the day. Could all beginners and buddies get the middle of the mini bowl at 8.45, so we can pair runners up and get a group picture
Have a few buddies already volunteered, but more help would be appreciated - let us know if you can help or see Andy on the morning

New beginners group – Monday Evenings

We have a new and FREE 10 week beginner’s course starting on the 11 November with Russell; this will be on Monday evenings at 19.30 at David Lloyd with the last week doing the free 5K parkrun at MK.

Raffle – Bournemouth Marathon Festival entry

Up for grabs is one free entry into next year’s Bournemouth Festival of Running, you can choose the distance.
Usual format, raffle tickets are available for £1 each (all proceeds to the clubs charity of the year) from Martin or Julie. The lucky winner will be drawn before the start of the Monday night club run on 4th November

Xmas Meal & Raffle

With the Christmas meal now sold out if anyone wants to come and join in the festivities from 10pm until 2 am we have 50 disco tickets available at £2 each. Please contact Martin or Julie.
We are looking for raffle prizes for this year’s raffle at the Christmas meal – if you can help with a prize please let me or Julie know

London Marathon - Club ballot

If you want to be included in the clubs ballot for a London Marathon place, you need to ensure you meet the criteria on this page; http://www.redwayrunners.com/#/club-london-marathon-ballot/4560579046
Place the rejection letter (with the plastic outer cover showing your name and address or the acknowledgement of your entry e-mail from about April 2013) the in an envelope with your name on the front of the envelope and pass it to the club secretary (Denise Dillon) by the 25 November 2013. This will then be checked for eligibility and the draw will take place on the evening of the clubs Christmas meal at David Lloyd on the 6 December
You can also give the envelopes to Martin to pass to Denise
The club has been advised by UK Athletics that we will get 3 places again

Normal Running Timetable

Monday
RUNNING CLUB - all standards - 3 or 4 miles, with Vanessa or the Step up group which does 2.7 miles at a gentle pace. Meet near the barrier entrance at 19.00 or if you are new at 18.50.
 
Tuesday
6 to 7 miles, approximately 9 minute/mile pace, meet reception 11.00 for a 60-75 minute run.
 
Wednesday
RUNNING CLUB - all standards - meet at 9.30 prompt in reception for a max 1 hour run (we mix up runs with Interval sessions or hills or a handicap run).
 
Thursday
Evening run or session work (hills, intervals or the handicap run) meet near the barriers at 19.00 led by Vanessa.
 
Friday
10 miles, 9 minute/mile pace or faster, meet reception 9.30.
 
Saturday
parkrun *, 5k meet outside the gym / pub on Willen Lake 9.00 - all standards - free event - should register before attending and bring the barcode, you can register your club as 'David Lloyd Redway Runners' even if you have not joined as it is a free event.
 
Sunday
Longer training runs, meet at 9.00 check the web site under ‘Sunday runs’ for details.
 
 
NON DAVID LLOYD MEMBERS MUST NOT PARK IN THE DAVID LLOYD CAR PARK
 
Please remember to do your warm up and cool downs before and after the run
