Raffle for race entries

We have managed to get places in two races next year - so we thought we would do a quick raffle with the money raised going to the club charity of the year.
The two free entries are to:
  • NSPCC half marathon in MK next July and
  • Bournemouth marathon festival in October
You can get a ticket from Martin, Jonathan or Julie - a £1 per ticket and we will draw the lucky winners at the club run on the 31 December

Club Shop

The last date for orders in time for Christmas/New year has now passed - so any orders from now on will be delivered in the new year.
Remember members have until the 31 December to get your order and payment to us if you want to take advantage of the club offer for all paid members of one item (tee, vest or children's tee) with a £5 reduction.
However, if you want any last minute items for yourself or as gift for runners we do have some caps, beanie's and snoods in stock.- just complete the clothing order form on the club shop and let us have it with the payment
We also have the race number clips at £2 for a set of 4 - these are available from Martin or Diane

Christmas & New Year running

We are now into our Christmas and New Year holiday running timetable, you can find all the details on this page

New Years Eve - The 2 year run

We are having an extra club run on New Years eve, forget your Ultras and long distance running this run will take 2 years, we will start the run in 2014 and finish the run in 2015!

We are meeting at Special Ops, 366 Simpson Road, Simpson,  MK6 3AG at 11.15pm (23:15) and starting the run at 11:30pm (23:30). It will be about a 45 minute run, with loop backs and finishing back at the same place as the start. Remember your head torch as it will be dark.

At the end we hope to have a bonfire going so bring some nibbles/marshmallows to roast and a drink to finish the night/morning off.

Up & Running MK Winter Half

Great day at the Up & Running MK Winter half on Sunday with loads from the club taking part and also many helping around the course. We even came away with three club runners picking up awards (picture below) for Caroline Beechey, Gavin Lucas and Maurice O'Connell - well done

We also manned the water station at mile 9 (picture below) at Tear Drop Lakes organised by Diane, which included Paul the Christmas Tree.

Well done to all that took part and helped on the day.

Lots of Redway Runner photos at:

For Mel Jordan the half was her first and she said
'As you were aware this was my first Half Marathon. Last night I was apprehensive as I didn't know what to expect, this morning I felt sick and I could of cried when I finished. The kindness, encouragement and support that I received from other Redway Runners has been absolutely brilliant from those running and those helping. I couldn't have done it without them today. Thank you all

From Rob with a message via Facebook
'Just wanted to say thank you to one of your runners for being my pacer. I don't think she realised she was one but with the green top she was easy to spot and was going at a good pace for me. I was the one singing in a red top

David the race director of the event said
'Diane and the gang did a great job! I was there this morning to clear up and it was all spick and span.'

James a runner at the event
'I said to my fellow running son, we will do this one again! Can you believe locals loaded up their children who gave out jelly beans en route and in addition to the water stations and gel/jelly/bear give-aways? And I have never seen so many Redway Runner t shirts - they kept me going in the 16-19 zone when I was flagging! Thanks to all.'.

Our video on the front page of the club web site is now looking a bit dated - so it is time to get a new one and Smiler Steve Morris has agreed to be the Producer of this epic for the club - but he needs a production teams - what we really needs is some people to film different parts of what the club does and then Steve will put them all together into one short film showing what we do.

So can you help with some filming - if you can let us know and Steve will be in touch.

Charity Gifts

Many thanks to all those who donated presents for children - Rena has now delivered them, many gifts went to Barbados but we had a small issue with some so they went to locally run 'light force' which is great as a club member is involved in this charity where the gifts will travel to Hungary & Albania.

Beginner Triathlon Training Day

GreenlightPT's Beginner Triathlon Training Day aims to give those new to the sport the confidence, knowledge and training needed to complete a Sprint or Standard distance triathlon in 2015.

A full day of coached swim, bike and run sessions. Classroom sessions will break up the practical work with advice on training, nutrition, pacing, organising yourself pre-race and how to deal with the unexpected during your race. We will have private use of a 25m swimming pool and athletics track, and use of the iconic Stowe School grounds for running/cycling.

Redway Runners get £5 off by using the discounted option at the payment stage.
