Club Trip Cardiff Half Marathon

Another fantastic club trip last week over to Wales this time for the main event being the Cardiff Half Marathon which is the biggest race in Wales and the third largest in the UK behind the London Marathon and Great North run, the event was fantastically well organised and on a lovely route.

Some of us also too the opportunity to do the Cardiff parkrun on the Saturday morning. (Main picture at top of mail is the main group photo then above it parkrun and below is the Sunday night post run celebration group).
Your text caption goes here. You can change the position of the caption and set styles in the block’s settings tab.

Bournemouth Festival of Running

About 50 from the club traveled down to the Bournemouth Marathon Festival to compete over various races on the Saturday and Sunday

As well as a great turn out for the kids race we had 12 doing the 10k and an excellent 25 out for the speed of light 5k on the Saturday night. Sunday the. saw 30 runners taking on the half marathon and a hardy 6 running the full marathon.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the events and there were some great times and plenty of PBs on show. As always, as much fun was had in various eateries and pubs around town as there was on the roads but what happens in Bournemouth stays in Bournemouth

The weather was fantastic again this year with blue skies topping off a great weekend, even if some came home the worse for wear!

Guinness book of records 2016

If any of you are buying the Guinness book of Records for your children for Christmas this year, check out page 226 and see our own Jen Sangster as the fastest marathon dressed as a Love Heart in 3 hours 18 minutes! She said she couldn't have done it without the amazing support of everyone in the club.

Nottingham marathon

Following on from Jen's PB in London dressed as a Love Heart, She was determined to knock 3 minutes off the time to get under 3 hours 15 minutes and qualify for championship entry into London for 2016. Not only did she smash the time in Nottingham on Sunday 27 September in 3 hours 11 minutes but she came 3rd lady overall! She is still in shock but is putting it down to all the mileage she is putting in with her ultra running this year. "So bring on my 50 miler next weekend in the Lake District!"
Well dome Jen - a World record holder
