Step Up group is Stepping Out

Due to popular demand, we are adding another step up group into the club run list, it will be on Thursday evenings at 19.00 at the barriers to David Lloyd and will be led by Leigh and Hannah. It will follow a very similar format to the current Monday night group on a route that will be about 6K (more with loopbacks) and will be a social run with everyone running together at their own pace. It will start on Thursday 3 July.

Great feedback

Lovely to see this type of post about the club, on Facebook from Hannah, who started a year ago with our beginners group:
This time a year ago I arrived home sweaty, purple faced and slightly broken vowing never to go another running session. Joanne took me back the next week and Andy, Terri and Leigh kept me there! One year on and I have made some wonderful friends, run almost 700 miles, improved my mental and physical strength and proved some people wrong and a lot of other people right. Thanks to all those who have encouraged me, goaded me, shouted at me and been willing to give me a hug (even when I am a sweaty wreck!) I love you all!!! DLRR you have created something more far reaching than could ever have dreamed... be very proud!

Well spotted Bali

DLRR Charity of the year 2013/2014 - Update

We put this story in last weeks mail - we have moved the presentation of the cheque back a week to the Wednesday 2 July - allowing our very own Sahara desert marathon runner who was instrumental in raising so much of the money be present to present the cheque, do come along to Willen at about 9.45 if not doing the club run.
Last year to the 31 March 2014 the DLRR 'charity of the year' was Willen Hospice, the money you raised was, £2,335.70 this has now been paid to them, and with the help from Jen this is being matched by Santander, so the total amount raised by the club for Willen is £4,671.40, this was raised by a number of activities in the club including the profits from last years Furzton Relay, the clubs Christmas raffle and the help we gave to Abi's fund raising from her challenge with the Marathon des Sables.

The money raised for Abi was split between Willen and the National Deaf Society, and the club has also paid a donation to them for £888.03, we are hoping this amount will be doubled as well to £1,776.06.

So the total raised by DLRR for charity last year was an incredible £6,447.46 - WELL DONE ALL INVOLVED.

For the club run on Wednesday morning on 2 July we will be running via Willen Hospice to get a couple of photos for publicity of us presenting a cheque - if you are running with us that day, please wear green tees for the picture - if not running come along to Willen about 9.45am

No parkrun in MK - 5 July

Please note that there is no parkrun in MK on July 5 due to another race taking place on the course that morning. Remember other local parkruns at:
