Update; 26 January 2017

We need your help

At the recent committee meeting we talked about club plans for this year and we have a number of items that we would like to do but we need a bit of expertise, so could you help - usual club pay scales apply and the satisfaction of helping the club and fellow runners anyway if you can help drop us a mail to so the items are:

Filming/videos - we would like to do more visual type items firstly the video on the club homepage of the web site is a little old and we need a new video, then we want to see if we need a You Tube channel, also have some information videos for the club like on training, news etc

Phone App - should we have the Redway Runners phone app - can anyone design and build one for us with some maybe free software.

Information management - at the recent beginners groups we collected a lot of information from people that we then had to manually put into the club database, (each of the groups took about 2 hours work so 14 hours in total) Could you help us with a system that people fill in details we need, then we can match/ merge with current data and auto add (guess a good knowledge of MS Access and how to network) - would need to explain more, possibly we could streamline the process.

Events - As we hold a number of events in the club now, which are separately managed, we are going to bring these all together and Stephen Scott has agreed to manage them for the club - they will still be running as different events with different leads but Steve will make sure we get benefits where we can of operating jointly

Community Engagement - Simon Richards is going to look at this area for the club and manage our contacts we have in the community and with business's, we are also hoping to look at a day where we volunteer so put something else back

If you can help on any of these let us know then we can talk more

Medal Hangers

Redway Runners medal hangers, pleased to let you know that Kevin from the club has offered to produce medal hangers for members.

You can have either dull polished (brushed effect) or Bright annealed (mirror polish) stainless steel for £16.50

Or can have in club green, mild steel at £20.00.

Prices include VAT, 2 x screws and 4 x washers, plus any profit from the order will be donated to the club charity of the year.

Delivery would be about 2 weeks from the order being placed, price does not include delivery as would pick up direct from Kevin.

However, in order to progress we need a minimum order of 10 in one type to progress, so if you are interested please mail us at with your name, e-mail address and type you want (Dull polished, Mirror or Green). Then providing we get the minimum order will confirm and provide details of how to make payment and we can place an order.

Beat the Street - 1 February until 15 March

Exciting news - Beat the Street is coming to Milton Keynes to encourage walking, running, cycling, use of the Redways, active travel, participation in physical activity and use of greenspace.

We want to put a Redway Runners team together as we think we might be rather good at it…! There will be over 100 special beeping and flashing sensors, called Beat Boxes, placed across central Milton Keynes – you can tap them with cards to track your journey, score points and win prizes for our team.

Beat the Street has seen more than 300,000 players taking part across the UK in 2016 and is managed by Intelligent Health with full support of Milton Keynes Council’s Sustainable Travel Team as part of the Get Smarter Travel in Milton Keynes programme.

Go to to find out more. The site tells you where you can collect the cards, so when you collect yours, just log on and register it under Redway Runners.

Let's do this!
