MK Festival of Running

Well done to everyone who ran and supported at the run on Sunday - it was some warm conditions for race day and a fantastic turn out from the club with 130 listed in the results for the half and 53 in the 10K so 183 in total.

Had many messages and information been sent to me about the event - but the one below stood out massive well done to Hannah, Terri and Debbie:

Not many members will know about this but one of the MK Half runners collapsed on the run-up to the Campbell Park beacon on Sunday.  In true DLRR style, Hannah Linford, Terri Hugel and Debbie Dickinson went straight over to help.  Between them, they got water into him, donated hoodies to keep him warm and got an ambulance.  They stayed with the man until the paramedic arrived and then, to top it all, Hannah and the paramedic helped him to the finish!  He was then whisked off the hospital.
Their selfless actions are just another example of how DLRR members make life better for others.  I just hope they’ll be around if ever I keel over!

Also had this on the club Facebook page from Harry's Rainbow Runers:
On behalf of all Harry's Rainbow Runners who took part in yesterday's run we would like to thank everyone from DLRR who supported and help us all round. Every runner said the support and encouragement given to them all the way round really did push them along. One big thank you to you all from us all at HRR. What a great running community we have.
