DLRR MS Update

Fantastic turn out  with over 30 people attending the Multisports session on beginners triathlon and duathlon! Massive thanks to everyone who came along, and particular thanks to our coaching team of Adam Gibson, Campbell Noon, and Robin Dowswell!
Looks like 2014 is going to be a busy year for Multisports! With that in mind we are looking for someone to join the team to help with the administration and organisation of the group - if you are interested in helping out send us an email at Thanks all

David Lloyd Redway Runners Dragon Boat Team

Are you interested in being part of the David Lloyd Redway Runners Team taking part in the Dragon Boat Festival on Sunday 22 June 2014. We're looking to recruit a squad of 20 rowers and each rower will get at least 2 races, or more if we do well! Crews can be mixed, all female or all male and the minimum age is 16 and no previous experience of dragon boat racing is required. The cost is £45 for each crew member (£900 for the team) for a great days entertainment, plus we'll arrange a charity fundraising page for the team. There are only 60 boats available, so don't hesitate!

All crew members must be able to swim in light clothing and in moving water and compete entirely at their own risk. Qualified helms, buoyancy aids and water safety cover are provided by the organisers.

Interested, then contact Andy Hully via Facebook or email
Can also send you a copy of the leaflet in pdf if interested

Paced Sunday Run

We have decided with the flooding looking unlikely in clearing at Caldecotte to move this Sundays run (16 Feb) to Willen Lake - we will meet in Gulliver's Car park (far end from entrance) to start at 9.00

We will have a social run with the usual loop backs that I will lead and we have Mary on the tail bike - the run will do multiple laps (with lots of high 5's as we pass our runners) so you can do as long as you like up to the 2 hours. But we will also have paced groups - you can find the latest list of pacing we have on the Sunday run page as well - if you would like to lead a pace group please let me know and will be added.

Sunday Run 23 Feb - Special

For the Sunday run on the 23 February, we are going to start - and finish - from the Body Limits Transition shop (Unit 3a, Erica Road, Stacey Bushes, Milton Keynes, MK12 6HS) at 9:00 It will be a 2 hour 10 minute run with coffee in the shop afterwards about 11:10 (they have a coffee shop!!)

Especially for us that day they are going to be offering 30% discount on all of current Autumn/Winter 2013 footwear. This will apply on the day bring along your DLRR membership cards.

They will, of course, have Spring/Summer 2014 footwear available, but this won’t be included in the 30% deal, but I’m sure we could offer 10% just for that day.

So even if you are not planning on running that day pop along.

We Own the Night Run - London

Had a recommendation for this run - been asked to pass on:
Here is the link for we own the night. Its on May 10th in one of the London parks. It was my first ever race and I loved it Paula Radcliffe also ran it, they gave away amazing goody bags and hosted a huge after party and everyone got a Nike dri-fit top which we all wore on race day.

Ashridge Run update

Posted previously about a run at Ashridge - now had the details from Helen below:
Just to recap, the Ashridge run is at 9am on 22 February.  Meet in the Monument car park for an off road run of approx. 5/6 miles (1 hour ish).  If there are a lot of runners then the group will be split so the faster ones won’t get frustrated and they will also get in extra miles. It will be muddy so probably don’t wear your best shoes and the café is outside so a jacket or sweatshirt for after the run whilst we have refreshments.  If the weather is really awful then we will reschedule.  No one will want to drive down if it’s icy or thick snow, but we’ll assess that much nearer the time and I can put an update on the web site.  I’d be grateful to get a rough idea of numbers just so I can warn the Tringers who will lead the group(s), but basically everyone is welcome.

Do not forget to register your runs on Jantastic if you joined - DLRR team is doing well with 68 members, position 79 and score of 35.8
You can now set your February targets
