Redway Runners FC match this Sunday

The first ever Redway Runners FC charity match is nearly here. This Sunday, 4 September, 1.30 pm at the Recreation Ground Hanslope, will witness the cream of the Redway Runners footballing crop take on a Santandar XI all in aid of the club Charity of the Year. Weeks of intensive training, well one kickabout followed by a beer, will hopefully come to fruition and it will rain goals. Many of the clubs regular faces will try and recreate their youths when they nearly got a trial for big club before deciding to play for the local pub teams fourth eleven.
What will make the day even better is if we could  be cheered on by a Green Army of supporters.  So please come and support the team  adorned in your Redway Runners Colours and feel free to join the players for an autograph signing session with food and drink available at the Cock pub in the centre of the village post match.
Who knows the next Pele, Di Stefano, Maradonna or Messi could be unearthed, alternatively why not just laugh at a lot of ageing men trying to look good in shorts.

parkrun Road Trip

With the Milton Keynes parkrun at Willen cancelled on the 10 September - chance for another Redway runners road trip and we are going to the Buckingham parkrun.

So do come and join us, more info at:

The MGB Challenge - Naked parkrun

This Saturday at parkrun (3 September) we have the MGB Challenge, yes it is parkrun naked!!!! Only pictures are for photo finishes please!

The details - you need to run this Saturdays parkrun naked - yes, without your watch (or other timing device). But in advance you need to tell us what time you will get - we will then compare statistics and see who gets a match or the smallest difference, with the results.

We know that running naked might just be a step too far, so you could start your watch and put it in your pocket or cover it with a sweatband/tape, etc - but no peeking - decency rules must apply.

So what does the winner get - they get to do a victory lap of parkrun!!.

So please mail us your time before 9.00am on Saturday morning by replying to this mail with your time and which parkrun you are doing if not MK or Linford Wood so we can check out your stats! Do not forget your parkrun bar-code and make sure you have Redway Runners listed as your club.

PS worried about the MGB challenge not sure she will be following the rules

NSPCC MK Half Marathon and 10K

The NSPCC Half and 10K is quickly approaching now on Sunday 25 September, we will again be managing a water station on the course we should be behind David Lloyd on the canal again, so we believe the runners will go through this point twice! (if doing the half) and just before the 'ascent' of Campbell Park hill

We really need about 12 helpers, last year helpers got a goodie bag, you would be needed from 9.30am for set up, Jenny is leading this for the club again and if you can help please let Jenny know by mailing her at

This will also be the club cheering point with the club flags etc.

Remember if you have not entered yet and are a club member then a discount code is in the club weekly mail.

Again this year we will have a club theme and back by popular demand, it will be a reunion of the club band - do get you instruments finally out of tune - grab your saucepans and the old band will be back with a few new members as well performing all over MK - badly.

About 15 minutes before the race start we will do a big green group photo

In the evening we will meet in the Wetherspoons behind Santander for a drink or two to celebrate from 7pm
