Charity Calendar Update

The Committee have now selected the photographs to go into our 2016 Limited Edition Charity Calendar. Thanks to everyone that submitted entries.

They are all in the spirit of the initiative - tasteful, cheeky and amusing. There will only be 100 of these collector’s items produced. The calendar is A3 sized with a picture(s) for each month and it will include key 2016 race dates. Calendars are priced at £12 each and should be ready for distribution in the last week of November. All profits will be donated to this year’s Redway Runners charity, Bravery Boxes.

The Committee have decided that we should start taking orders now. If you would like to reserve your copy/copies please send me an e-mail ( confirming how many calendars you would like to order and deposit £12 for each calendar you want into the “Redway Runners” bank account number 42390360 sort code 301553 (referenced 2016 calendar) or by cheque payable to “Redway Runners”. If we sell 100 the contribution to Bravery Boxes will be a significant amount of money for them so, come on fellow runners, get your order in now to make sure you don’t miss out!

Christmas & New Year Running

As we get closer to Christmas you are of course starting to think about when you will get your runs in!! Well in the club we have a fairly full list of club runs taking place with a few changes to some runs - you can find all the details on the club news page or at:

Thursday nights are changing!

The Thursday night interval sessions have been proving very popular and numbers have grown significantly over the last few months. To try and keep things to a manageable size going forward we are launching a 10 week ‘Winter Training Programme’ on Thursday nights to replace the current intervals sessions.

This has been designed by Stuart Woodruff from the club who has been leading coached sessions for the zero to hero and will run from Thursday 19th November through to the end of January.

There will be two groups, one for 9 minute milers and quicker which Stuart lead and one group for the 9.30 minute milers and upwards with Jonathan will lead.  Both groups will do the same programme (with some slight adjustments) just on alternate weeks. This will keep each group to an optimum size and ensure each runner gets the most benefit from the sessions

The work will be based around alternate weeks of pyramid efforts, hills, Fartlek and mile repeats This might sound different to some people but they will be suitable for all and hopefully you will see real benefits as we go through the winter as well as having some fun along the way too!

Emergency Contacts

When you first came along to a club run or joined then you should have filled in your emergency contact details for us.

Obviously we hope we will never have to use these, but we do want to make sure you are looked after on club runs and if anything should go wrong we would want to be able to contact your contact, therefore if you feel your emergency contact information is out of date (or you are not sure what you gave us and want to provide the an update) then please mail us with the name and contact number, please do this by mailing us at
Thank you

Beginners group Graduate

32 beginners graduated with the Milton Keynes parkrun on Saturday morning, with 29 buddies supporting them. What an amazing (and emotional) finale to the beginners course with Annette. Thank you to all participants  morning and especially the helpers who have turned up week after week, you have been very much appreciated.  We look forward to seeing you all on future club runs.

Also a nice write up in the parkrun weekly report at:

Bucks Star Brewery

When you find out one of the club members is the founder of a Brewery in Milton Keynes, then on behalf of the club, of course, met with Datis at the Bucks Star brewery to start to explore how we could work together in the future, whilst visiting would have been rude not to sample the beer which was rather good, so watch this space!!

Getting Ready for a Marathon challenge

Many of you will know club member Mack and next year he is hoping set a Guinness world, by running in the equivalent of 10 marathons - if that is not difficult enough he will be doing it all in the Help for Heroes bear costume, of course one of the events Mack will be doing is the MK Marathon in May, so he should be seeing lots of green to run with him and cheer him along the route as he completes his journey he is hoping to publish regular updates - the most recent is this video
Good luck Mack
