Last race of Cross Country

We have the last race of the Cross Country season in the Chiltern League on Saturday 7 February and it is local at Tear Drop Lakes - so a nice local one - we need a good turn out from the club to cement or improve our position in the league in our first season.

Winter 10K

We had some runners at the Winter 10K in London for a cold day out

Want to be in the movies?

One of our runners applied to be part in film project, he was not successful but got the response below back - if anyone interested get in touch with them at:

Greatcoat - Runner Casting Call Reply
Hi there,
Many thanks for your e-mail re the Greatcoat Films casting call for a runner.
We really appreciate all the interest and sorry we couldn't reply individually but we had over a thousand applications - and we're a bit too small of an organisation to respond to those while producing a film but we did go through all of them.
Pete (the videos director) and I were completely overwhelmed by the number of responses but even more so about the passion and enthusiasm of the running community (which i am guessing a lot of you are part of) - our casting call was for a runner to appear in a music video. But we are really interested in exploring the culture of running after being completely inspired by many of the people we talked to - so please stay tuned as we are looking to develop a documentary film with this as the central theme - running stories.
With this in mind - please follow us on social media for up-dates, and should anyone have any stories they think may be interesting and relivant to this project please send a brief summary over - no detail needed at this point, just an outline to assist us with our research as a starting point; Stories of how running has changed your life or others, how its brought you together with people, inspired change in the way you approach life, got you through a tough time, perhaps of major running achievements or actually stories of something that took place while running.
As before - i can’t promise to reply to all e-mails but we will read all ideas you send and approach people whose stories we think might be good to explore further.
Please follow us here -
… and keep an eye for the video we shot for the original call, Gaz Coombes new single “Detroit” - we’ll post it when its released in about 2 weeks time. Shot on location in the Lake District, Blackpool, London and the Sussex south coast featuring some *beautiful* scenery and impressive running!

Thanks again and best wishes,
Simon Oxley

Dash for Dads 2015

Been asked to pass on details of this event:
You may have had an email from me at the end of last year regarding Child Bereavement UK’s annual ‘Dash for Dad’ event in June. We have changed the event slightly this year by bringing back the 10k, which is a difficult and strenuous uphill, multi terrain challenge!
Please could I ask that you promote this event to your runners and anyone else that would be interested? We want this event to appeal to the serious runners in the Bucks area, but also to their families too. There are children’s fancy dress fun runs, medals and a family fun day to finish off the event.
It should be a great day for everyone!
Below is the relevant information if you can put it on websites, spread the word or put it in your newsletters. Please also email my colleague, Emma Riley, at if you would like some flyers nearer the event.

Car Parking

We have checked with David Lloyd and during February the car park outside Gulliver's Land will be acting as a overflow car park for David Lloyd - this is also available to our runners as well - it should be open the same times as David Lloyd is open

So great free parking for our Monday and Thursday night runs. Please remember if you are not a David Lloyd member you should not be parking in there car park

Great turnout with 42 for our first Marathon clinic for 2015 our next clinic is on the 11 February - do get booked as it looks like it may be a sell out with GB Coach Nick Andrews.
