Author news

On August 10, Janet spent the day in the lobby of the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park, signing copies of both her books, the guidebook Yellowstone Treasures, updated fourth edition (2013) and the 1883 travelog Yellowstone, Land of Wonders: Promenade in North America's National Park (2013), which she cotranslated with Suzanne Cane from the French. Janet enjoyed meeting her readers.

What's new on the website

In recent months we have added an interesting two-part article called Yellowstone Park and the Quest for the Origin of Life, Part 1 and Part 2 to the Nuggets page. Janet got the chance to interview microbiologist Dr. Eric Boyd, and wants to share all she's learned about thermophile research in Yellowstone and elsewhere from him and other sources. Also, she's been writing on her blog about her June wildflower class with the Yellowstone Institute in Countdown to my Yellowstone wildflower trip and Wildflowers galore! Most recently we serialized her memoirs of her experiences from 1939 to 1942 in a five-part series called Janet celebrates her 75th anniversary in the park.
