MEET THE CUTTLEFISH, One Of The Brainiest, Most Bizarre

animals in the ocean. A bizarre, alien-like creature like no other.

It’s an animal with eight sucker-covered arms growing out of its head, three hearts pumping its blue-green blood, and a doughnut-shaped brain. It has the ability to change its color and shape to blend in with seaweed and rocks, and it has a knack for switching on electrifying light shows that dazzle its prey. Perhaps most surprising of all, this animal is quite intelligent, with a highly complex brain..

Pack Your Bag - AUSTRALIA

Australia is known for its unusual animals, rich marine life, fascinating culture.

Completely surrounded by water Australia is a divers dream  with over 4000 species of fish.  Swim with giant whale sharks, with sea lions and dolphins..

But when it comes to visiting below the ocean’s surface, one particular part of its marine heritage stands out above all others, the Great Barrier Reef.

It isn't hard to understand how the dive site known as The Zoo got it's name. Home to a prolific and varied collection of marine life, all concentrated in a relatively small area. This is one of the region’s best macro dives, with residents that include frogfish, ghost pipefish, mantis shrimp, leaf fish, funky hairy squat lobster, different species of pygmy seahorses and more. And the same picturesque underwater landscape that make for good hunting during the day also provides habitat to a wide range of creatures that remain hidden while the sun is up. As a result, The Zoo is also a favorite night dive.

They’re found on bright orange or purple corals, blending in and avoiding the notice of predators.

But how did the seahorses come to be the right color? Biologists at the California Academy of Sciences set out to answer this question:
