We're excited to grow! Youth Ministry Institute Midwest continues its work as Ministry Leadership Initiative as a partner in the YMI Network. Our focus in ministry continues – we are experts in youth and children's ministry and a wide range of other ministry services.
Continuing our work as YMIM & rebranding as MLI – making a difference!
Our board of directors recently hosted a rebranding event for our partners and supporters. Nearly 50 people gathered at the Made in Kansas City Marketplace location on the Plaza in Kansas City last week. What fun! It was heartwarming to see many of our partners, supporters, and our board members shopping, visiting with one another, and sharing aspects about how our ministry supports youth, children, and local churches.
Special thanks to Grace Cantril of Made in Kansas City, host of our rebranding event, and Madeline Chamberlain of Village Church, for designing our logos and our new website.

Cohort headed to Tampa for National Youth Workers' Conference
YMIM–MLI is having a great year! We commissioned five youth ministers in May, and 10 additional youth and children's ministers are headed to Tampa this weekend to attend the National Youth Workers' Conference. Our partnership with YMI provides these church leaders with over 300 hours of quality instruction, including attendance at four notable church conferences. Please pray for our journey with this great group – and connect with me if you or your church leaders will be there!
Recognizing our board and our partners
We are fortunate to be aided by an excellent board of directors and several significant partners that support Ministry Leadership Initiative. We'd love to visit with you, or your church, if you'd like more information about our services, or if you'd like to volunteer.

Why is this ministry needed? The National Study of Youth and Religion found that only one in 12 youth are devoted to their faith. Effective youth and children’s ministry is needed more than ever.
Yet, other university studies show that youth and children involved in their church are more likely to live a life of faith, more likely to experience academic success, and less likely to engage in risky behavior. Harvard’s School of Public Health reported in 2018 that kids raised in church become happier adults.
An effective youth and children’s ministry provides life-giving support, nurture, and spiritual tools to young people. MLI specializes in this work.
MLI develops authentic, intentional, and highly proficient leaders to share the love and grace of Jesus Christ in local churches. MLI operates as a non-profit organization, based in Prairie Village, KS (Tax ID: 82-4308014).
