It's not over yet.

We're already in May and the date we've all been dreading is almost upon us.

Yes, we've had some cause for some celebration as the TPD implementation in the UK is the most soft touch announced so far, but it still goes further than we know is reasonable.

As a vendor, I have just had to tell a sizeable chunk of our customers that we will not be able to ship to them because registration is needed to ship from the UK to EU - that registration, of course, is impossible to complete.

Maximum bottle and tanks sizes, onerous testing and reporting, a block on exports, it's farcical and whilst May 20th is coming fast there are still things vapers can do.

Yesterday saw Anne Main table a motion to the Houses of Parliament. The motion is below, I encourage you to give it a read and then use write to vape to ask your MP to sign the motion the pledge their support.

Once you've done that, please consider using the share buttons on this email to spread the word. The more of us get behind this, the better.

Kindest,

Tristan

Early day motion 1441: E-CIGARETTES AND THE TOBACCO PRODUCTS

"That this House agrees with the Royal College of Physicians that it is crucial that e-cigarettes are priced as advantageously as possible in relation to tobacco; believes that the EU Tobacco Products Directive would significantly inhibit the development and use of harm-reduction products by smokers and cost lives;

further agrees with Public Health England that e-cigarettes are around 95 per cent less harmful than smoking, and that nearly half the population does not realise that e-cigarettes are much less harmful than smoking;

further believes that restricting advertising will have the perverse effect of reducing the rate at which cigarette use is declining; notes that the total cost of smoking to society, including healthcare, social care, lost productivity, litter and fires, was conservatively estimated by Action on Smoking and Health to be around £14 billion per year;

and calls on the Government to exclude e-cigarettes and other harm-reduction products from the Tobacco Products Directive." (source)
