Hey Sistah Girl!

Sistah Girl,

Happy Black History Month! I don't know about you but January felt long. I have some good news, our site it up! This has been a long time coming, but we now have book reviews, author interviews, and we will be adding more content to the site very soon.

Just to be sure we are both on the same page, the book club is part of The Sistah Girl Next Door, the site offers more than book-related content–but all the content is created specifically for black women. We have amazing writers who will be adding their talent to the book club section. I am currently looking for two more writers to add to the section. If you are interested in being a contributor please email me.

In celebration of Black History Month, we are hosting two book discussions. "A Kind of Freedom," was the first book I read to start 2018 and I thought it would make a good B.H.M. read for the club.

What books are you reading this month to celebrate Black History Month? Email me your selections, my email address is

Book reviews & Interviews by Sistah Girls!
I am a very curious person who is completely fascinated by other people's human experience. So interviewing people is one of the joys of my life, however, I wanted to bring the reader into author's lives a little more in a creative way. Chencia C. Higgins was brave enough to trust this interview process and I must say, it's really good.
