June 12 & 26: Monitoring water quality at a swimming hole near you!
Do you have a favorite swimming hole? Have you ever wondered how clean the water is? We do and we have, so WRP staff and trained volunteers monitor water quality at 22 swimming holes every other Wednesday from May 29 through September 4. Results are available the Thursday following each monitoring date. Contact us to receive results directly!
Local students raise & release brook trout
The WRP, local Trout Unlimited chapter, and 15 schools are partnering to raise Trout in the Classroom (TIC). The WRP helps schools set-up tanks and chillers in late-December, and delivers 100 brook trout eggs to each tank in early-January. Students spend the winter caring for the developing trout, then release the "fry" at the end of the school year. TIC is an important component of the WRP's education program with schools - visit our website to learn more!
